Chapter 437 - Chapter 437

August 22nd, Saturday.

Time flew by, and before he knew it, Dak had already been working as a teacher at Tristain Magic Academy for over a month.

But in truth, he had only taught five morning classes so far.

After all, he only had two classes every Sunday morning.

During this month, Dak certainly didn't spend all his time at the academy. He hadn't forgotten his true identity or mission.

He used Shadow Clone Jutsu to fight on three fronts simultaneously.

First Front: Pokémon Island

After the conclusion of the first Pokémon Contest Festival, Dak immediately gathered members of the Engineering and Environmental Departments to discuss the expansion plan for Alliance City.

Currently, just the influx of people from the Sailing World and the Ninja World during holidays was already putting a heavy strain on Alliance City.

Not to mention, those two worlds had only recently entered the Pokémon Era.

The majority of people, especially the lower-class citizens from the previous era, had not yet become wealthy enough to afford interdimensional travel.

As more people gained wealth in the future, the number of visitors to Pokémon Island during holidays was bound to increase again.

And the number of worlds connected to Pokémon Island would also continue to grow.

Not even counting the dozens of worlds in the next hundred years—

Just within a year, another massive world—the Magic World—would be added to Pokémon Island's network.

Once that wave of people from the Magic World arrived, Alliance City would definitely face all sorts of congestion, potentially even traffic accidents and stampedes.

Because of this, Dak didn't hesitate any longer and launched the expansion plan for Alliance City that he had already considered before.

As of now, the Alliance Forest outside the city center had been fully developed.

Covering an area of 3,000 square kilometers, the Alliance Forest was the pride of the Environmental Department. Expanding east, west, or south would inevitably damage the environment they had worked so hard to build.

It would even force many Pokémon that had taken up residence there to scatter.

After careful consideration, Dak decided to expand northward.

To the north of Alliance City lay the Inland Sea.

Currently, the northernmost part of Alliance City wasn't the Alliance Forest, but rather the Hunting Grounds on the sea surface, and the two military bases beneath the sea.

By expanding northward with a layer of land, the new development would surround the Hunting Grounds and conceal both the Navy Base and the Grak Military Base below the water.

However, a waterway roughly a hundred meters wide would be left between the new land and the Hunting Grounds.

This waterway wasn't just to preserve the Hunting Grounds' independent system.

It would also allow passage for Water-type Pokémon, Trainers, and species like Fishmen and Merfolk.

Likewise, the Alliance Base on the sea surface would also be surrounded by a "moat-style waterway."

This was a massive undertaking.

If the Engineering Department were tasked with building the new land, it could take decades to finish.

If Groudon were summoned, it would cause too much disturbance and could potentially damage Alliance City or even injure innocents.

So Dak had no choice but to use PokéCoins in the Miracle Mall to directly generate the new terrain.

Creating new terrain with PokéCoins was expensive: 1 PokéCoin = 1 square meter.

Dak spent nearly half of the PokéCoins he had accumulated in the system—around 30 million PokéCoins—to exchange for 30 million square meters of land to place above the Inland Sea.

Thirty million square meters sounded like a lot, but it only equated to 30 square kilometers—roughly the size of a large village.

Previously, the area of Alliance City's central district was 150 square kilometers.

Now it had expanded by one-fifth, reaching 180 square kilometers, which was just over one-tenth of Alliance City's total area.

Second Front: Albion

After a month of observation and evaluation—

Wales, the prince of the Albion Kingdom, had finally earned Dragon's approval.

Dragon had observed many aspects of Wales, including how he reacted to emergencies and assassination attempts, and how he treated ordinary citizens.

Possibly because Wales had spent the last few years at Albion's Magic Academy and had little exposure to the country's darker politics, he often came across as a bit naïve.

But precisely because of that, he still held onto a relatively idealistic mindset, wanting to turn Albion into a utopia where everyone was equal.

In the past, this kind of thinking would've been mocked by every seasoned noble across the continent as a laughable ideal.

As long as class divisions like "nobles" and "commoners" existed, true equality could never be achieved.

But now, things were different.

In Dragon's eyes, the moment this continent fell under the watch of the Pokémon League, it was destined to move toward a peaceful Pokémon Era.

Class divides would soon become outdated and would even contradict many of the League's laws and rules.

Wales' dream of an ideal kingdom was much more suited to be passed down in this new era.

And this was exactly what Dragon valued most.

So, Dragon decided to take Wales as his disciple.

But his first attempt at asking Wales failed.

Because to Wales, Dragon—this mysterious cloaked man who suddenly appeared—looked anything but trustworthy. He was downright creepy and gave off one overwhelming impression:

Suspicious.

Having faced countless assassination attempts over the past month, Wales no longer trusted any stranger who suddenly appeared before him.

He not only distrusted Dragon but even harbored strong hostility toward him—he was clearly in a state of extreme paranoia.

This left Dragon feeling troubled.

Sure, he could force Wales to become his student through strength, but that would only make it harder to win him over.

So, Dragon turned to Dak for help, asking if there was a way to make Wales trust them.

Dak immediately came up with a solution.

He used his identity as a Tristain Magic Academy professor to personally visit Princess Henrietta in the capital.

Naturally, Henrietta had no reason to refuse.

By this time, Dak had already become a well-known figure in Tristain. The legend of his creation of the Ice Magic System was already spreading to other countries.

Now it was others who begged to meet him.

Albion's civil war had only broken out less than two months ago. The royals and nobles there had kept the news tightly sealed, and Henrietta hadn't yet received a plea for help from Wales. She was still unaware that Albion was embroiled in civil war.

In the original story, by the time Henrietta received Wales' plea and sent troops to help, he was already at the brink of ruin.

When Dak met Henrietta, he didn't mention the civil war.

He simply said that a commoner friend of his was planning to go to Albion to do business with the royal family, but it was extremely difficult for a commoner to meet royalty.

So he asked for a token from Princess Henrietta.

Henrietta, of course, didn't refuse such a simple request.

After all, she wanted to keep Dak—this genius magician destined to shake all of Halkeginia—in Tristain, so she gladly took the chance to build rapport with him.

Later that evening, Henrietta even insisted on having Dak stay for dinner at the palace, during which they chatted extensively about magic.

Since Henrietta's magic affinity was Water, she and Dak had plenty to talk about.

From their conversation, Dak also noticed something interesting—not a single rumor had spread about him being from another world. It was as if the information had been completely buried.

Dak didn't care much about that. It made no difference to him.

After dinner—

Henrietta personally wrote a letter and stamped it with her royal seal, then handed it to Dak.

This would serve as the token needed to earn Wales' trust in Dragon.

As for how the letter came into Dragon's hands—that was up to Dragon to make up. After all, Albion's affairs would be handled by him moving forward.

With the letter in hand, Dak used the Door-Door Fruit to instantly teleport to Albion and left a Shadow Clone with Dragon to monitor developments there.

Third Front: Tristain Magic Academy

During this month, Dak's biggest achievement was developing strong relationships with three noble ladies.

The first was Tabitha, naturally.

She was someone Dak specifically took the time to engage with.

She was the key to conquering the Kingdom of Golia.

Over the past month, Dak had spared no effort in helping Tabitha improve her magical abilities.

He helped her raise her Water Magic to the same level as her Wind Magic—both reaching Triangle Level.

He also made Tabitha the first person in this world to learn Ice Magic.

Although her level was still low—only Dot Level—and she could only cast a few basic Ice-type spells for now—

He told her many stories about Pokémon Island and the Pokémon themselves, successfully inspiring her fascination with the Pokémon Era Dak spoke of.

By this point, Dak knew his efforts to win over Golia had reached at least 50% progress.

The two of them had already become trusted senpai-kouhai companions.

The reason he said that—

Was because a few days ago, Tabitha voluntarily revealed her true identity to him.

The girl had seemed very concerned about Dak's reaction and watched his expression for a long time. When she saw that he was completely unfazed, she finally let out a quiet sigh of relief and smiled happily.

Dak continued to act indifferent toward her identity and never once asked about her situation in Golia.

He was still waiting.

Waiting for the day Tabitha would ask him what she should do.

That would be the moment she placed complete trust in him. And at that point, he would take her back to Golia—and destroy Joseph.

For now, Joseph still served a purpose: to keep the Pope of Romania's schemes in check.

Besides, Dak was also very curious about the nature and level of that so-called Evil Dragon.
