Chapter 573: Overpowering the Dragon Kings
Above Dragon Island, the three Grand Elders watched the battlefield in stunned silence. Even the strongest among them, the Grand Elder, was shocked.
"Even I might perish if caught in such an attack. It's uncertain whether I would survive," he remarked with awe. "I never expected Zi Yan to have such a powerful friend. This is indeed a blessing for our Tai Xu Ancient Dragon clan."
Elder Zhu Li nodded in agreement. After pushing Dragon Island to a safe distance, they had erected a barrier of fighting spirit to shield themselves from the energy blasts. Initially, they wanted to return to the battle to assist. However, Qing Lin and Xiao Yi Xian, who came with Xiao Ze, advised them to simply guard Dragon Island. Given the current battle involved three-star Dou Saints, and Xiao Ze was handling three at once, any interference on their part might be more hindrance than help.
The thousands of feet wide Lei Yuan (Thunder Abyss) spun, devouring the three light beams completely before collapsing into a storm of energy-charged thunder scattering in all directions. Xiao Ze stood amid the thunder, like a king among the dispersing lightning, receiving homage from the surrounding forces.
However, the three Dragon Kings, careless of their own safety, were determined to slay Xiao Ze. From their previous engagement, they recognized Xiao Ze's strength as merely at the three-star Dou Saint level, slightly behind them in progression. Each of them was a late three-star Dou Saint, stronger than Xiao Ze individually, and outnumbering him, they believed defeat was impossible.
Despite the initial heavy blow they suffered from Xiao Ze's heavenly-tier advanced soul combat technique, they felt the disparity in fighting spirit realms and their numerical advantage could not easily be overcome. The combined might of the three could even threaten an early four-star Dou Saint!
Their plan was simple: watch for Xiao Ze to use that powerful technique again. They knew such devastating attacks must drain considerable energy, unlikely available for repeated quick use. But just the thought of that attack haunted them, making them wary of Xiao Ze unleashing it again.
As these thoughts flashed through their minds, the gigantic dragon forms of the three kings lunged at Xiao Ze. Their claws shone with a dazzling purplish-gold light, a testament to the Tai Xu Ancient Dragons' formidable physical prowess. With a single swipe, they could tear mountains apart, and now they aimed to strike Xiao Ze.
But the surrounding Black Demon Thunder quickly formed a net, intercepting the glowing dragon claw. As the lightning net clashed with the claw, endless sparks erupted, causing fine wounds on the dragon scales, and the West Dragon King roared in pain.
Attempting a close-range attack, he opened his monstrous jaws wide, but Xiao Ze acted swiftly. The Black Demon Thunder around him condensed into a massive net in an instant, enveloping the thousand-foot-long body of the West Dragon King, binding him with relentless electric force. Countless tiny wounds bloomed across the dragon's body, bathing him in blood, making him look as if he had been flayed.
The North and South Dragon Kings transformed back into their human forms and charged at Xiao Ze, their fighting spirits surging, tearing through the black lightning in their path. They aimed fatal blows at Xiao Ze's heart and head, determined to incapacitate him.
But in the next instant, they were stunned to see Xiao Ze effortlessly catch the punches of both the South and North Dragon Kings. His face relaxed, as if dealing not with the enraged strikes of Dragon Kings but with the feeble punches of children.
"Proud of your physical prowess as magical beasts? Mine is no less formidable!" Xiao Ze smirked, his body radiating infinite Black Demon Thunder, engulfing both figures in a world of thunder.
As the West Dragon King finally escaped the lightning net, he saw a world of black thunder stretching hundreds of feet before him. The Thunder World was filled with flowing, mighty thunder, displaying terrifying power.
Without hesitation, his eyes filled with intense hatred and blood, his tail sweeping toward this world of thunder. Godly Dragon Tail Swipe! He had clearly seen the North and South Dragon Kings enveloped in this thunder world. If he didn't act, Xiao Ze might manage to deal with them, leaving him alone to face Xiao Ze—a prospect he knew was likely fatal.
Boom! The Thunder World shattered under the dragon tail's assault, two figures spitting blood as they were flung hundreds of feet away. The North Dragon King's chest was caved in, showing a clear imprint of a fist, and the South Dragon King fared even worse, his right arm completely shattered, hanging uselessly by his side.
Before the West Dragon King could process the rapid defeat of his comrades, a pair of calm eyes fell upon him, instilling an overwhelming sense of dread that momentarily wiped the hatred from his eyes.
Xiao Ze appeared instantly before the West Dragon King, moving with inconceivable speed. His right hand, enveloped in boundless thunder power, delivered a punch that struck the dragon's body. The colossal dragon, thousands of feet in length, was sent flying by Xiao Ze, who seemed no larger than a speck of dust in comparison. This dramatic disparity in size, yet inverse in outcome, left all onlookers wide-eyed in shock.
The onlookers, transfixed by the sight of Xiao Ze's diminutive form wielding power sufficient to effortlessly shred any of them—or even a dragon—the sheer scale of his power was laid bare by the injuries visible on the three Dragon Kings.
"How is this possible!?" The North Dragon King clutched his chest. In their brief clash within the Thunder World, they had pitted their physical strength against Xiao Ze, only to be thoroughly overpowered—not just in technique but in physical strength as well.
In mere moments, they had exchanged dozens of blows before Xiao Ze left his mark on the North Dragon King's chest and broke the South Dragon King's arm, leading him to question whether they were the apex predators or if Xiao Ze was.
