"Don't know. The blood and injections I gave her will kick in in a few hours, so until that settles down, we can't have her walk around the palace just yet," Leah explained to Lina.
"How long will it take for the changes to lessen?" I asked, touching the band around my eyes.
"Don't know. Every person is different," Leah said, shrugging, I presume.
"Fuck, is it going to be painful?" I said I was a bit worried.
"... probably."
"... sigh."
"Want me to knock you out?" Lina asked worriedly.
"Oh, please do," I said, nodding. Not even a second later, I suddenly felt a hard impact on the side of my head, making me grunt in pain.
"Ouch, son of a bitch, that hurt," Lina said painfully.
"True, that did fucken hurt. Did you just hit me over the head?" I asked, turning my head towards her.
"Yes, but you asked me to do so. I think I broke my hand."
"I thought you were just going to inject me with something. I might know where you are standing, but I don't know what is in your hands." I said, annoyed, feeling a headache starting.
"Ugh, yeah, be careful. It hurts." Lina spoke to Leah, who was trying to help her.
"Yeah, you broke it alright," Leah said mockingly.
"How the fuck is your head so hard that I broke my hand on it!?" Lina exclaimed, baffled.
"Uwe did say that he needed to use quite some force to knock her out," Leah said while laughing at Lina.
"Hey, can I go to sleep before it... I already hate you two so much. Ugh." I said, annoyed, before feeling the pain coming in.
"Huh? But it shouldn't be kicking in already." Leah said it worriedly.
"Shit, get her something to knock her out with," Lina said, grabbing my right hand.
"I am so going to bitch slap you two when I wake up again," I said, still grunting in pain.
"Uh, uh, good luck with that," Leah said before I felt something stab my neck, and shortly after that, I lost consciousness.
[Unknown]
"Hmm, Ren!" a feminine voice said, entering a warehouse door. Looking around, the woman noticed no lights on—something weird, seeing that the warehouse owner had a self-sufficient generator.
"Where is she? Don't tell me she got into her designing again and forgot about our date. Ren!! Where are you? You missed our date! And don't think I will easily forgive this time!" The woman said this, walking towards the bedroom and overseeing the entire warehouse.
"She still didn't put something in for normal people. Freaking teleporting freak." The woman said, annoyed, that she was stopping in front of the bedroom door.
Knock Knock
"Ren, I am coming in. Please be undressed," the woman said, opening the door without waiting for a reply.
"Ugh, what is that smell? Why is it dark in here, too? Tsk, what the hell is going on?" The woman said she was moving to turn on the lights.
"I see, so they crossed the line," the woman said, looking at the bloody scene in front of her.
"YOU FUCKEN BELLS, YOU HAVE MADE THE WORSE MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE. I swear you will pay for what you have done!" The woman shouted before hitting the side of the wall.
Boom!
On impact, half of the warehouse disintegrates into nothing.
"Sigh, I went overboard again. I hope Ren won't kill me for it. Meh, I will probably have fixed it before she returns," the woman said. Taking out her phone, she looked at the background, which showed a beautiful girl with emerald green eyes and black hair smiling shyly. Going through her apps, she opened a particular app showing a heartbeat.
"I truly love you to the end. You better return to me alive, Ren. In the meantime, I got to get planning." The woman said, kissing her phone before a dangerous glint went through her eyes with her smirking.
[Demon castle]
[2 weeks later]
"I hate you so much!!!!" I yelled, pulling Leah's hair while standing on top of her.
"Ouch, ouch, stop that; it hurts," Leah shouted, trying to get me off her.
"She is acting like a child," Lina commented, looking at the two of us running around the room.
"Huh!? You want to join?" I said, giving Lina a death glare.
"No," Lina answered as fast as she could.
"Too bad you are next," I yelled, giving a giant yank at Leah's hair.
"You runt, you're going to pull out my hair. Uwe, help me!!!!" Leah whined, looking at the demon king sitting on the couch, looking at us confused.
"Now, do calm down, Ren."
"Calm down!? Calm down? Are you crazy? She turned me into a fucken kid! A kid!!" I yelled, glaring at Uwe.
"I didn't do that. It was the healers," Leah whined, trying to defend herself.
"Who was the one that started to inject me with multiple things because I didn't wake up?" I yelled, giving another yank to her hair.
"Ren, sit down now." The demon king said it in an authorising tone, making me teleport to the opposite couch without thinking about it.
"That tone of yours is unfair," I said, looking at the demon king, annoyed. I shot back onto the couch until my back was against it with my legs in the air.
"Says the little child who can easily throw someone across the fucken room." The demon king rebuked me, making me narrow my eyes at him.
"Tch, how did this even happen? All I remember was going to sleep forcefully, and then I woke up in a soft bed. Firstly, I thought I was in a giant's bed because it looked so big in the beginning until I saw my hands." I said, annoyed, looking at my small hands.
"Yes, yes, have you even checked yourself in a mirror?" Uwe said with a raised eyebrow.
"No, Leah came in a second after I woke up. I attacked her right after she entered." I said it with no hesitation or regret in my voice.
"I see, Leah dear, can you please?" Uwe said, looking at Leah behind him.
"Of course," Leah said, making an ice mirror in front of me appear.
Looking into the mirror, you could see an 8-year-old child, about 1.3 metres tall, sitting there glaring at the mirror. The child had black shoulder-length hair with noticeable purple highlights. The darkish skin colour made her face even cuter, even though she had small black scales under her left eye and a black horn on her forehead on the right side. She had emerald green irises with a gold-red triquetra as a pupil. She also had teeth like vampires in old myths on Earth. Other than that, she looked all the same as she did before. Yes, this child is me.
"I look like a fuck midget monster thing," I said, annoyed.
"Yeah, that sums it up alright," Lina said, nodding and hiding her chuckling.
"Hmm, I do need to test out my new teeth. It also seems I have a test subject eagerly wanting to be tested on," I said, looking at Lina with a bright smile.
"No, thank you," Lina said, shaking her hands and head.
"You sure? It won't hurt too much." I cooed, smirking.
"Hmm, it seems nothing changed about your personality, even though your body reverted to its younger time." The demon king said this, standing up to get a better look at me.
"Mister demon king, it's not very good to look at a child like that," I said, confusing the king.
"Why."
"People would think you're a lolicon or something."
"Lolicon?"
"Into small kids' bodies. Like in a sexual way." I said, not seeing Lina and Leah shaking their heads vigorously at me.
"Hmm, is there something wrong with that?"
"Not in particular. It's just humans calling these kinds of people paedophiles."
"..."
"Ah, paedophiles are..."
"I know what they are," the demon king said, holding his hand up to stop me from talking.
"Oh, so are you?" I said, tilting my head at him.
"No, I don't like young girls, but." The demon king said he was getting a bit gloomy.
"Huh?"
"Did Leah and Lina tell you about my other two wives?"
"No, we didn't really discuss a lot about the family," I said, feeling bad just seeing his gloomy expression.
"I see, well, those two are dead, and both of them were quite small in stature. I loved them dearly."
"I see," I said, nodding, waiting for him to continue.
"They died because..."
"Dear, you don't have to talk about it."
"No, she will find out anyway."
"Hmm, let me have a guess here. They both died because people got greedy for power and wanted to use you somehow," I said, rubbing my head lazily.
"Yes, they both got kidnapped and..."
"Kill themselves," I said, finishing his sentence.
"Yes, in a way, nothing bad happened because of it, but their loss was all my fault."
"Your fault?" I said, dragging myself out, surprised.
"Yes, if only I were stronger."
"Sigh, you're one of those, huh? I am quite surprised by that."
"Ren, please don't."
"One of those." The demon king said this, narrowing his eyes at me.
"Yes, you know those people who take all the blame because they think everything revolves around them."
"Ren!" Leah yelled, trying to make me stop.
"No, no, let him hear this; trust me. Now, Uwe, king of demons, why do you think it's your fault that they got kidnapped and killed themselves?"
"Because as their husband, I need to protect them."
"Yes, yes, true, you do need to do that," I said, nodding before seriously narrowing my eyes at him.
"But are you a god? Not that I know of. Are you omnipotent? Also, I am sure you are not; otherwise, you would have won the war long before. Now, why did they kill themselves even before you had the chance to try and do something?"
"How did you know?"
"It was a guess, but answer that one."
"..."
"..."
There was a long silence in the room as everyone thought about what I had said.
"Aah, they-" A surprised gasp made the silence end.
"Shhh, Lina, he needs to figure this out himself," I said, not taking my eyes off the demon king.
"They thought they failed me and deserved death." The demon king said it uncertainly.
"You fucken muscle brain freak." All three of us shouted in sync, annoyed at his density.
"What?"
"It's because they loved you so much that they sacrificed themselves for you. Remember, because they did that, you became the world's ruler, dear." Leah said, walking up to the demon king and hugging him.
'Uh, you are also wrong, but okay, we can roll with it.' I thought, sighing.
"But that was why I failed them." He started looking down.
"You are making light of their feelings, dear—including ours, in fact. We will do the same if need be," Lina said, joining the hugging.
"Remember, you never wanted to take over the world in the beginning, but because of their deaths, you did do that to get revenge on the people who did so. Look at the world now: complete peace; no one hates each other; there is nothing; and now we even have peace with the humans on earth," Leah explained, wrapping her arms around Uwe.
'What a novel world.' I thought, sighing again.
