You know, a world with a magical force known as mana. Humans got to know about it when they saw these weird animals with abnormal strength or mutations.
Slowly, humans began to learn about the mana and incorporated in their day-to-day lives.
But then, there was a sudden burst of mana throughout the Gran Turin Continent. This led to extinction of several animal species and the formation of gates, which was a pathway to another unknown world. It was during this time that the beings from another world appeared and settled on the continent.
This was known as the Grand Awakening as it led to the rise of four types of mana like fire, water, light, earth. Of course, due to the ingenious evolution of humans and with the coorporation with the new beings, they developed several varieties like ice, air, metal, lightning.
There was war. The Hundred Year War between the new beings which were hostile to the humans and the beings which sided with the humans. At the end, the Orcs and other Beasts were sent to live in the Low Lands in exile. The Low Lands was the result of the thousands of battles that had happened between the Beast Alliance and the Human/Elf/Dwarf Alliance.
The elves scattered after the war, for they feared the atrocities committed by the humans. Some became the guardians of the Low Lands, while some went to live in the mountains, far from civilization. The dwarves stayed and it led to a mixed human-dwarf race known as Gnomes. Elves wanted to protect the nature, dwarves wanted to create the Greatest and the Strongest weapon known to mankind and tried in vain for years.
Humans wanted to rule over everyone. But then came the mages, a special class of species who wielded mana to form spells which can do some serious damage. These people were mostly humans who didn't want more wars. Ultimately, mages made peace with the current ruling class- the Warriors who used weapons as a source to channel their mana.
Mage Towers were formed in many areas with the prime focus being the use and origin of mana.
Now, the powerscaling.
Each human, elf, orc, dwarf, gnome, half-elf has some amount of mana present within them during birth. According to their talent, the inner mana grows which makes them powerful. At birth, a normal baby is a beiginner One Star.
A normal ten year old child with no prior mana experience is just an Intermediate One Star.
A normal person with no fighting class is between a Beiginner Two Star to a Beginner Three Star.
The strongest person ever was the Family Matriarch of the Sureva Family, Rhea Sieaha Sureva who was known to be beyond Nine Star, a Divine Being. She made it known by being the pioneer of human-dwarf-elf Alliance in the Hundred Year War.
But one day, she disappeared. On the day of her disappeance, the Tower Of Trials appeared.
This strange Tower had many mysterious worlds within. No one knew what happened at the top level of the Tower as no one had made it that far. Everyone tried, even the current strongest person, a Beginner Nine Star but he also failed.
Some say that Rhea Sureva would meet you at the end, while some say you get to know about the origin of mana.
Now, the Geography.
There is the Continent of Gran Turin(like Pangea). Just a little far from the continent, lies the Saobody Archipelago, which is the remains of a rumored another continent which was submerged during the Grand Awakening.
The Saobody Archipelago is inhabited by some Elf Tribes and humans. It is a tourist destination as well as a mining source for mana stones.
In Gran Turin, there are three kingdoms- Rayoda, Ruthenia and Rashtrakutas. All three kingdoms were primarily dominated by humans with some elf tribes on the edges.
Bordering the Kingdom of Rayoda was the Low Lands. It was a highly militarized zone because of the presence of higher ranked Beasts and Orcs. This was the reason why Rayoda was the strongest between the three kingdoms.
On the coasts of Ruthenia, lied the Himlayan Mountain Range. This was the place where the concentration of elves was the highest. That's why Ruthenia, despite being so close to the Saobody Archipelago, had very little navy facilities.
Rashtrakutas was the largest kingdom by area and resources but was the weakest because of Criminal Underworld. Corruption was rampant and rebellions were frequent. That's why the ruling family of Rashtrakutas, the Irvings, were very ruthless and suppressed the commoners. They feared a threat to their throne and used tough measures to combat the rebels and the gangs.
