Weilan had returned to the Qiao Family home from the First Embroidery shop by evening.
Lu Hechen saw her enter with her head hung low and furrowed his brows, knowing Weilan must have encountered some difficulties. He approached her and asked, "What's wrong?"
When Weilan looked up and saw Lu Hechen, a complex look of apology flashed through her moist eyes.
"Brother Hechen," Weilan said softly.
Lu Hechen walked over to her, noticing Weilan's emotions seemed quite low. Hechen asked again with concern, "Weilan, what's the matter? You don't seem to be feeling good. Did you face any setbacks?"
Heard the sound of concern, Weilan felt even guiltier. Meeting his deep eyes, she nodded.
"Brother Hechen, it's probably not just a setback," Weilan said, her mood more downcast than ever.
"Come on, let's go inside and talk," Lu Hechen said, taking her hand and leading her inside.
"Is Dad here?" asked Weilan.
She hadn't seen Mr. Qiao or Qiao Jingchen and wondered if they were at home.
