This was not the first time that Ash's hat has been snatched away by a Pokémon.
His personal fighting instructor and expert at this, Mankey and now an Annihilape, took his hat away when the past Ash was first traveling through the Kanto Region when it was still not caught. Even now, whenever he sees Ash, when Ash does teleport him over to improve on their bond, he still likes to take his hat and wear it for fun.
Ash also sees this as a sign of affection so he never really minded it, instead he will give him a treat to enjoy as a reward.
Sometimes it's the simple things in life that really makes a difference.
Because Ash's three Pokémon's sensed that the little child had no ill intentions towards them or their Trainers, so the three Pokémon didn't bother to stop it. While all of them, that being Ash and his Pokémon's, could have stopped Snorunt from running off, they ultimately did not stop him and allowed him to take off his hat and run away into the cold outside world.
Seeing it jumping and escaping, Ash was just smiling without any worries, "Everyone, you guys just rest here for now, I'll be back soon!"
"But Ash, a blizzard will be here soon, and it's going to be a very strong one!" Nurse Joy quickly called out to stop Ash's shenanigans, "Don't worry about that little one, that Snorunt always like to play pranks on the guests here, but it really doesn't mean any harm to anyone. Just wait for some time here and he will definitely come back to return your hat. Trust me, I have played these games before."
Ash just nodded to what Nurse Joy said, "I know that Snorunt has no ill intentions towards me or anyone, otherwise he wouldn't even have the change to take away my hat, but since it took my hat away, I'm afraid I will need to play with him a little to make sure he knows what he's doing."

Pikachu and the other two Pokémon also nodded in agreement with their beloved Trainer.
Looking at the back of Ash chasing after the little Snorunt, Max said with a smile, "It seems that Snorunt can't escape from the palm of Bif Bros hand!"
"Yeah, but that Snorunt is really cute." If Ash hadn't acted quickly, May would have been the one who wanted to win over that little guy and take him under her wing.
Of course Snorunt realized that Ash was chasing it. Just when Nurse Joy was giving some instructions, he was already waiting for Ash at the gate of the Pokémon Center
It was wearing his snow hat with Ash's own hat on top of its head. It was wearing it kinda crookedly, and he looked like he really liked it very much, which only made it appear even more cuter. When it saw Ash chasing after him, he turned around and released a slight Icy Wind attack.
Togetic was the one to reacted as she was the one in front and used a light Fairy Wind of her own to push back the Icy Wind of the young Snorunt.
Seeing that the situation was not going well for him, Snorunt quickly turned around and escaped from the perimeter of the Pokémon Center.
Just when Ash was about to chase after where he left, the long awaited blizzard arrived.
"Ash, no, that blizzard is here, and it's even stronger than the one Nurse Joy said it would be? It's too dangerous to be outside now!" Brock caught up and grabbed the waiting Ash, "That Snorunt doesn't mean any harm to us at all. Like Nurse Joy said, I, too, believe that it will come back tomorrow and return your hat. I know you know that too, just wait!"
However, Ash just looked at the snowy curtain outside without any fear and instead smirked, "It's okay Brock, I will go alone, there will be no problem, you know me too well!"
As he spoke, he pushed the two little girls in his team, his Ralts and his Togetic, into May's arms, "Babe, you look after these two little troublemakers and wait here for me to come back. I'll be safe, so don't worry about me."
The two little ones nodded obediently to Ash, and Ash turned around and rushed into the harsh blizzard with his Pikachu on his shoulder.
"Ralts, Togetic, do you two want to enjoy some hot tea with me?" May hugged the two little guys and couldn't put them down, they were simply too warm and comfortable to let go. They always clung to Ash and ignore her for stealing their Trainers attention.
"Sis, please let me give Ralts a hug!" Out of all of Ash's Pokémon's, Max probably likes Ralts the most, so he now finally had the opportunity to give her a hug.
Rushing into the cold blizzard, Ash activated his power over Aura and amplified it to have a larger area where he can use his Aura Sense to track and chase after Snorunt.
He still remembers that once in a snowy mountain area like this in the Johto Region, he met the Guardian Pokémon that protected the whole snowy mountain region, Articuno.
Tho it was a pity that he wasn't able to catch Articuno at that time as that one still had some duty that needed to be finished and fulfilled from a past powerful Ice-type Trainer, it's one and only past Trainer.
According to statistics, he really didn't have that many Ice-type Pokémon's, even fewer than the number of Electric-type Pokémon's in him.
He only had his Lapras as an Ice-type, that needed to change.

The feedback from his Aura Sense surprised even Ash.
As soon as he caught up with the running Snorunt, he found that it had missed one of the steps on the edge of this snowy cliff and immediately slid down the snowy cliff.

But Snorunt was trembling with fear, so Ash could only do his best comfort him, "Don't worry, okay? I will definitely protect you!"

Pikachu also nodded repeatedly without any panic in his voice. He and Ash had already experienced too many thrilling events to make this one count amongst them. This was a trivial matter compared to when that fake wannabe Groudon wanted to take all the power of the Millennium Comet for itself.
Looking at Ash's gentle but firm eyes, Snorunt blinked his big blue eyes and just nestled deeper in Ash's arms.
At this time, a stone pillar appeared in front of Ash when he was still in the middle of sliding down the long and steep slope, and he would definitely hit it, that is if he didn't do something about it.
"Absol, you know what to do!"
Now, besides his Pikachu, the most reliable and strong Pokémon's around Ash were his calm and collected Absol and and the sometimes childish Flygon. His Vigoroth still needs to be trained well for him to be able to combat in such situations like the ones he was in now.
Flygon really couldn't stand it in such ice and cold weather as he was a dual Dragon-type and Ground-type, so Ash had no choice but to use his Absol, who was also a great choice to be honest.
Absol landed onto the stone pillar and lowered his powerful head. With his quick eyes and quick hands, Ash grabbed the long horn the moment it was about to hit and stopped sliding. If he didn't use his Aura to coat his hand, it would have been cut by now.
Finally they were able to use the stone pillars to rely on to stay up, otherwise Ash had to land somewhere and then use Teleport to get out of there. This was a deep cliff, and who knew how dangerous it would be to continue sliding like this.
At this time, Snorunt suddenly jumped off Ash's hands. It was an Ice-type Pokémon. So he didn't feel any discomfort in this ice and snow, but the wind was indeed a little bit too strong for it to handle properly.
It started to use its Icy Wind again, and based on the stone pillar, it made a large piece of ice.
"Wow, you're pretty good at it. Looks like I don't have to use Teleport to get out of here." Ash figured out Snorunt's plan immediately and went along with him despite now being able to get out of here safely, "Absol, use Razor Wind!"
Absol made two quick cuts and dug out a small igloo from the ice, which was just enough to accommodate Ash and a few of his Pokémon's.
Entering the igloo, Snorunt used his Icy Wind again and blocked the door, making the igloo suddenly feel much warmer. Who knew that it could be this convenient to have an Ice-type Pokémon in such a place filled with ice and snow.
Ash held Absol near his arms. Its long white hair felt very comfortable to stroke. Pikachu was completely buried in its hair.
Snorunt was still wearing Ash's hat like it was the best thing ever.
"May and the others must be worried. Tho this is much better than teleporting out of here, we can have some fun." Ash patted Snorunt's head gently and comforted him, "You should be a boy. When you evolve into a Glalie, you will have a round head to wear a hat perfectly."
The evolution line of Snorunt was very similar to that of his Ralts. The regular evolved form of both genders of Snorunt was called Glalie, but only the female Snorunt can evolve into a Pokémon known as Froslass through the rare Dawn Stone.
Glalie was a pure Ice-type Pokémon, and Froslass was a dual Ice-type and Ghost-type Pokémon.
But since this is a boy, Ash didn't need to think about anything when it comes down to choosing what to evolve into just like his female Ralts, who only had one option.
After waiting for the blizzard to be over in this igloo, May and the others came over with the help of Nurse Joy, tho Nurse Joy specially was extremely surprised to see Ash teleporting out of nowhere.
"Ash, are you okay? And are you saying that you could have teleported to the Pokémon Center last night but chose to because you wanted to experience something new?" Nurse Joy looked like she was about to erupt, and only stopping when Snorunt gave her that look of pure innocence.
"Of course I'm okay, and my bad, it was too fun down there." Ash just smiled and didn't think much of it and continued to hug his comfy Ralts and Togetic back, took the hat back, looked at Snorunt and said, "What do you think, Snorunt, do you want come with me and see and do many new things?"
Snorunt didn't hesitate at all and agreed directly, jumping up and down with excitement, which made Ash feel like that they were simply meant to be.
Suddenly Snorunt got into a battle stance and looked up at Ash.
"You want to battle me?" Ash's eyes lit up, "Alright then, Ralts, I choose you!"
The little girl was challenged by the little boy, but it was the girl that launched the attack first, "Ralts, use Disarming Voice!"
Since Ralts used her move first, Snorunt, who was full of fighting spirit just now, suddenly staggered by hearing the very good sounding but extremely loud love, but he quickly recovered, and used Double Team to surround Ralts.
But such skills can no longer be taken seriously by Ash or even Ralts because they can sense the real one's Aura/Presence, "Psychic!"
They all saw a bluish pink light bursting out from Ralts's small body, and all of Snorunt's Double Teams suddenly disappeared, leaving only the last real body standing there in shock.
Then Ash's Ralts turned around, holding a small not so dense Shadow Ball in her arms, and threw it in front of Snorunt with a bang. This was because she didn't want to unnecessarily hurt her new friend.
Ash then threw out a Poké Ball with a smile, "Snorunt, from now on we'll be great partners!"
Snorunt: 150/180
