Chapter 29 - chapter 29:looking for answer part 3

Chapter (29):Looking for answer part 3

"Wow, we found the cave! Look, they even decorated it!"

"Well, you weren't wrong, this is definitely a cave, or perhaps the gates of hell."

Both Emma and Smiley stood and gazed towards a rocky cave surrounded by tall grass. What caught their attention, however, were the numerous corpses hanging near the cave. There were many hanging bodies of lycan deer, their bodies decomposed and their skin falling off. But there were also other decomposed bodies, not of beasts, but of humans.

The people hanging from the ropes were tied upside down by their arms, and all of them were decapitated. There was even a corpse without skin, its arms dangling downward. This scene alone would bring nightmares for days to anyone who saw it. But Emma wasn't concerned with this; she was focused on something specific about them—something that caught her attention: the remaining clothes on their decomposed bodies.

"Construction worker, engineer, photographer, policeman... and... wait, who is this? This is the first time I've seen military clothes like these before."

Emma was looking at a corpse she couldn't tell if it was decomposed or not because of the military attire. The clothes had a complex military design, with faint yellow neon lines, and there was no head.

"I've never seen military clothes like this in my life. This is definitely not FBI or S.W.A.T., but something else."

"Oh, oh, maybe it's a member of that secret organization you talked about!"

"Yeah, maybe... or maybe not... Hmm... Smiley, I want to check something... Take down all these bodies."

"What? Why me again? Why don't you try it?" he asked with a frown.

"Because I don't have the ability to jump high into trees or the super strength to break chains with my bare hands," she replied indifferently.

"Hmm~... Fair point."

Smiley jumped and broke the chains of every human corpse, and Emma examined them carefully. They all had wounds in different parts of their bodies. She searched each of their pockets and found nothing except one thing: the construction worker's ID. Then she reached the mysterious soldier's corpse.

"Alright, let's see what you really are."

Emma searched the corpse's pockets and found an old piece of gum, a worn-out cigarette pack, and a broken walkie-talkie. But she found something important: a strange black device with many lines around it.

"What kind of device is this?"

"Maybe it's some kind of toy? Like a Rubik's Cube!" replied Smiley.

"Or maybe it's some kind of transmitter. Doesn't matter," Emma said, putting the device in her pocket.

She then took out her phone and took pictures of the corpses.

Smiley looked at Emma with a puzzled expression. "Oh, do you have a hobby of photographing corpses?"

"No, I'm taking evidence that might help us later. And now," she said, pulling out her flashlight and pointing it towards the cave, "shall we go in?"

"Wow! I didn't expect you to say that! I thought you'd avoid going in. You hate fun."

"Well, you're with me, and besides, I have the weird fairy shoes. In the worst-case scenario, we can run away."

"Then let's go to the dungeon! We have a monster to slay!"

"We're not in Dungeons & Dragons for you to say that."

"Come on, Emma!, don't ruin the moment."

.....

Somewhere else, a car was parked near an ordinary house.

"So, is this the house, Niles?" asked Mr. Blackwood, sitting in the car with Detective Niles.

"Yes, sir, this is the Wilson family's house."

"Hmm...."

"Detective Marcus, is something wrong?"

"No, it's just that I was wondering if he had any connection to my daughter, but when I looked into him, I found nothing."

"But he's still the most suspicious person. He's the one who beat them up badly. His footprints alone tell us everything," replied Niles.

"Yes, I know that, but I saw him personally. Unlike what he seems, he's not the type to do this."

"Well, we'll find out when we go in," answered Niles.

"Alright, I hope so," replied Mr. Blackwood as he got out of the car with another detective.

Marcus knocked three times on the door, and a woman in her fifties opened it. She looked at Marcus with concern.

"Excuse me, sir, but who are you?"

"I'm Detective Marcus, ma'am, and the person next to me is Detective Niles. Could you please tell me who you are, ma'am?"

"I'm Melina, Melina Wilson. I'm his aunt and his guardian."

"What about his parents?"

"His parents separated a long time ago," replied Melina with sorrow.

"I'm sorry for bringing up such a sensitive topic."

"Oh, don't worry, we've both moved past that. Are you here about what happened at the school?" asked Melina with concern.

"Yes, I'm here to talk to Frank, Mrs. Wilson," replied Marcus.

"I heard what happened, but my nephew would never be involved in something so horrible!"

"Don't worry, ma'am, I know that well. We're just here to ask him a few questions, nothing more. We won't harm him."

"Alright, my grandson Frank is injured and is currently in his room. I'll guide you to him. Come inside."

When Marcus entered the house, it was an ordinary house, much like any other, similar to his own. Mrs. Wilson stood in front of a specific room and entered.

Frank was sitting on his bed, having removed some bandages, but his arm was still broken and covered in bandages. His room was empty except for some weightlifting equipment, punching bags, a small closet, and an ordinary computer next to him.

"Frank, there are detectives here who want to ask you a few things. Don't worry, they won't harm you," Melina spoke confidently.

Frank looked at them with his predator-like yellow eyes. "Yes, I promise I'll cooperate with you."

"That's if he doesn't bite us first," Niles whispered to Marcus.

Marcus sat on a chair and looked at Frank while Niles stood by the door. Marcus opened a small notebook and took out a pen from his jacket, staring at him.

"So, Wilson, can you tell me exactly what you were doing before the day of the incident?"

"Well, I was returning to school to get my things when I saw a nuisance on my way," replied Frank indifferently.

"Do you mean Jack?" asked Mr. Blackwood as he started writing in his investigation notebook.

"Yeah, that's the name of that bug," replied Frank.

"But you saw him dead. Isn't it bad to call a dead man a bug, no matter who he was?" asked Marcus, continuing to write.

"I heard he died, but I didn't come to school yesterday," answered Frank.

Niles looked at Frank suspiciously and raised an eyebrow, while Marcus looked at him curiously. "Can I understand why you didn't come to school?"

"Because the principal expelled me," replied Frank.

"I see, the principal expelled you... Wait a minute, why did the principal expel you?" asked Mr. Blackwood suspiciously.

"Well, because I beat Dan up badly," replied Frank.

"Who is this Dan?"

"Dan Williams, the captain of the Thunder Claw football team. You could say we have some issues."

"Yeah, we can see that," replied Niles, looking at the bandages on his body.

"Can you tell me more about this Dan?" asked Mr. Blackwood.

"Well, at first, he's annoying, short like a goblin, and has many friends who follow him like sheep," answered Frank.

"So, is that why you're in this state? Because he sent his friends to beat you up?" asked Mr. Blackwood.

"What? No, not at all. It's because he invited people from Lancerville School," replied Frank indifferently.

"What?" Both Mr. Blackwood and Niles were shocked by this strange answer.

"Are you telling me Dan sent people from another school to beat you up specifically? Why? What exactly did you do to him besides hitting him?" asked Marcus as he wrote.

"Well, when we first met, he wanted to fight me. He was obsessed with hitting me, and I tried to settle things peacefully, but... it seems he wanted to humiliate and disgrace me in front of the school."

"And then I decided to beat him up badly, and then everyone started calling me the Beast or the smasher for some reason."

"He tried to socially ruin me, and everyone started to fear me and stay away from me. He sent more people to beat me up."

"Did you feel angry because he put you in this state?"

"Of course not, because I made sure he wouldn't do it again," replied Frank threateningly.

"What? What exactly did you do?"

"After the Lancerville students came and jumped on me, I won with difficulty. I broke their bones after they broke my arm, and I went to Dan and crushed his face," Frank spoke indifferently. "That was before his friends came and attacked me too."

"..."

"..."

"What?"frank asled

"Well, now we know why you're called the smasher," replied Niles.

"And it seems he was obsessed with some girl who had killed someone."

"A girl?" asked Mr. Blackwood, feeling a bad premonition coming.

"Yeah, her name is Emma Blackwood."

The moment Frank mentioned Marcus's daughter's name, Marcus's hands shook for a moment before he continued and narrowed his eyes at him.

"Can you tell me more about why he was obsessed with Emma?"

"Um, Mr. Marcus, we're investigating him about the murder at the school, not about your—"

"Just a minute, Niles. Tell me exactly why?"

"I don't know exactly why he was obsessed with that girl Emma, but it has something to do with the cafeteria incident."

"What cafeteria incident? Can you tell me about it?"

"Oh, I have the video of what exactly happened."

Frank opened his phone and pulled up the video, then handed it to Mr. Blackwood. Niles approached and wanted to see the video, and the video started playing...

At the Blackwood house...

Chloe was pacing around Emma's room nervously, while Nathan was searching through Emma's computer.

"Did you find anything?" asked Chloe as she paced.

"Nothing," replied Nathan.

"Did you check the browsers?" asked Chloe angrily.

"Yes, but there's nothing. Just give up, Chloe," said Nathan.

"Come on, let me check the browser. Even if her history is cleared, the predictive text still works, and we'll see which sites she was browsing!"

"Try, but you won't find anything."

"Hmph, you'll see!"

Chloe typed many words into the browser, but no predictive text appeared.

"Chloe... just stop, you won't find—"

"Ah! Is this it? The evidence!" Chloe interrupted Andrew.

"Anonomyth? What is that?"

"I don't know, but it's definitely a site Emma visits often. Let me open it... and... what the hell is this?"

There were so many images and conspiracy theories that even Chloe, Andrew, and Nathan felt suspicious.

"I didn't know my sister was into this kind of stuff," Andrew asked strangely.

"Yeah, there's even a theory about Bigfoot," Nathan replied.

"Wait a minute, look at this!" Chloe exclaimed.

It was a picture of Sarah and Jack's corpses at school.

"Wait, who took this?" Andrew asked suspiciously.

"Being X?" Chloe asked suspiciously.

"It must be one of the students who witnessed this," Nathan replied.

"Wait, something else has been posted," Chloe said.

They saw a strange picture with many symbols, as if it were a complex code. There were many speculative comments about this code.

"What is this?" Andrew asked.

"I have no idea," Nathan replied.

"Wait, look at this!" Chloe shouted.

It was a picture showing Sarah and Jack's corpses in a strange position, with the blood still visible as if they had died recently. They noticed they were sitting on a tree with John, but the most shocking thing was the name of the person who posted this picture.

[Emoman62: This is a picture from the perpetrator. said she did it, and they deserved it!]

"She? Don't tell me!" Nathan said in horror.

"Bingo, Emma, we've caught you!" Chloe said confidently.

"How... how could she do something like this? She must have... to..."
