The final week of the production felt long and heavy.
Director Sylvia had finally wrapped up her film, and now the weight of post-production rested in Ruby's hands. For two straight days, she sat in the editing room, eyes fixed on the screen, going through every scene with quiet patience.
She checked the transitions, the audio balance, the colors...every small thing that most people would overlook. She worked side by side with Vera and others and neither of them said much… because they all knew the real work was in the silence.
But even after those two long days, the project still wasn't done.
There were too many files, too many last-minute adjustments. Ruby leaned back in her chair, eyes slightly tired, when Director Sylvia walked in.
"If you're okay staying on for a few extra days," she said gently, "I'll pay you extra. It's only fair."
Ruby looked up and nodded with a soft smile. "Alright."
