In a quiet room, Kaal was repeatedly punching the air in the same motion, over and over. After a while, he paused and stared at his hand.
"Nothing is happening… Does it only activate during battle?" he muttered.
Then the condition for this ability must be that it only activates in combat… and it seems to predict the trajectory of projectile weapons, Kaal thought.
During his duel with Lauren, he was able to predict her attack patterns and effortlessly deflect them using just the tip of his sword. It was as if time had slowed down, and from Lauren's sword, he could see several red Qi lines in the air—paths her sword always followed.
Kaal knew the reason behind this. It happened because of the Green Bead Seed. When Lauren's movements slowed in his eyes, he felt a sharp pain in his heart, right where the Seed was embedded. In that moment, he was able to read the path of her sword with uncanny clarity.
"Soul treasures always have mysterious abilities… And now that this Seed has revealed its own, I'll name it Mind Eye," Kaal said to himself, recognizing its power to perceive an opponent's movements.
The changes in my body only began after I started cultivating the [Myriad of Thousand Demon Body] technique, which I received from the Origin Core… I'll call the Green Bead Seed a part of the Origin Core itself, Kaal concluded in his mind.
His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a tremor that shook the spirit ship. A moment later, Jane entered and informed him that they had landed at the Kilvish Clan's Spirit Ship Base.
As Kaal stepped out, he noticed Lauren and Elder Alvin already heading off to their respective areas.
He began walking toward the main peak, where his father resided. Dressed in a green robe, with long black hair, sharp eyebrows, deep black eyes, and a naturally handsome face, Kaal drew the attention of many.
"Is that young master Kaal...?"
"He's so handsome... I want to marry him..."
"Have you looked in a mirror, bitch?"
"I'm going crazy...!"
While the girls swooned, many boys watched with either admiration or envy in their eyes.
Walking just behind him, Jane noticed the girls' crazed expressions and grew visibly annoyed.
"Tsk... These bitches…" she muttered under her breath, though only Kaal heard her thanks to his enhanced senses. He responded with a light smile, though an unfamiliar emotion stirred in his chest—one he didn't quite understand.
Upon reaching the main peak, Kaal gestured for Jane and Mia to stay behind, heading alone toward the main hall.
Inside, he found his father sitting at a round table, deep in discussion with other clan elders about spirit stone mining. Kaal decided to remain near the corner, silently observing.
Charles Kilvish—black hair, black eyes, and a face strikingly similar to Kaal's—looked to be in his mid-30s, with a sharp black beard. Sitting at the head of the table, Charles noticed Kaal but didn't react. This was normal for them. Many elders saw the interaction—or lack thereof—but said nothing.
A few minutes later, the meeting ended. As the elders left the hall, some gave Kaal respectful nods.
Once they were alone, an awkward silence filled the room. Then suddenly, Charles stepped forward and pulled Kaal into a hug.
"I heard you were attacked—are you alright? Are you injured? Tell me!" he asked in a flood of concern.
Kaal laughed under the bombardment of questions. "Dad, if someone saw this, they'd never believe that the cold and stoic Clan Leader Charles Kilvish could be this soft."
Charles, still focused, muttered, "What kind of father doesn't care for his son? Especially a son as amazing as mine…" He began checking Kaal for wounds, still concerned.
"Now enough jokes. Answer the damn question!" Charles said, irritated but worried.
Kaal stepped back and responded, "I'm fine, but Elder Alvin's grandson, Raven, died saving me… and the ones behind the attack were from the Jeral Clan."
As Kaal's words sank in, a terrifying aura erupted from Charles. The hall was instantly filled with suffocating Qi.
"They dared to harm my son?! I'll crush their bones until even their mothers won't recognize them!" he roared.
Kaal, warmed by his father's anger on his behalf, smiled. But he knew how to calm him down—he used his secret weapon.
"Dad… I've decided to visit Mom."
Silence fell like a heavy curtain.
Charles's expression twisted from fury to pure fear. "W-why do you want to go to that crazy woman?! Did the attackers damage your brain or something…?"
Everyone in the world knew that the powerful Clan Leader Charles Kilvish and the Holy Maiden of the Jade Ice Sect, Bella Darwin, were like oil and water. But only a few knew the truth—Charles wasn't angry at Bella. He was terrified of her. And he never dared to go against her will.
