Chapter 47 - Vox

Vox stood tall and imposing, a seven-foot, technology-themed demon with a flat-screen television for a head. His monitor projected eyes with red sclera, small cyan pupils, and differently colored outlines—black for his right eye and cyan for his left. When using his hypnosis powers or when enraged, his left eye gained a black spiral, and the pupil became a cyan electric symbol. His screen also showed a mouth full of sharp, cyan-colored teeth and a long, pointed tongue similar to Valentino's, but cyan. Sometimes, what looked like blood seemed to drip out of his mouth. He appeared to have dark navy-blue skin with sharp, cyan claw-like fingers.

Vox wore a navy-blue tuxedo with the jacket sporting coattails, red-trimmed cyan lapels, thin cyan stripes, and cyan lining, worn over a red-and-black-striped waistcoat, itself worn over a collared bluish-white shirt with an upside-down broadcast symbol and a rather large, red bowtie. He also wore heeled dark gray dress shoes with cyan-colored laces, toes, and tips on the heels. Atop his head, he wore a small black top hat with red and blue designs reminiscent of a broadcast symbol and a radio wave symbol, respectively. TV antennae stuck out from the top of the hat, the left one bent into a zigzag.

When Vox first arrived in Hell, he used his smarts and TV knowledge to introduce television, a new concept for the denizens of Hell. His innovation was exceptional, and soon, he caught the attention of the King and Prince of Hell. Now, he worked under them and had a room in the royal castle. Learning about a demon named Valentino, who made adult films in Hell, Vox initially thought he could collaborate with him. However, that possibility was dashed when Prince Charlomaine killed Valentino, making Vox wary of the prince. Vox had originally planned to use the prince to spread his TV network and mind control all of Hell. However, he quickly learned the hard way why that was a bad idea.

Currently, Vox was engaged in another conversation, listening intently to the Princess of Hell, Charlie, and her little project. Charlie was enthusiastic about her plan for redemption and rehabilitation of sinners through her Happy Hotel, now renamed the Hazbin Hotel. Vox listened with mild amusement and curiosity, wondering how this naive endeavor would pan out in the harsh reality of Hell.

Charlie looked at Vox, hopeful. "So, what do you think, Vox? Can we count on your support for the Hazbin Hotel?"

Vox's screen flickered slightly as he considered her words. "Princess, your idea is... intriguing. I'll be keeping a close eye on it. Who knows, it might make for some interesting programming."

Charlie beamed, taking his words as a positive sign. "Thank you, Vox! I knew I could count on you."

As she left, Vox's screen displayed a knowing grin. He was always intrigued by new developments, especially ones that promised to shake up the status quo. The Hazbin Hotel was an experiment worth monitoring, if only to see how it would inevitably collide with the brutal nature of Hell.

Vox left his room, greeted by servants who treated him with utmost respect. He had to admit, living in the royal castle had its perks, even if it felt a bit excessive at times. However, he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling that he wasn't a royal demon, merely an overlord, despite his elevated status. As he walked down the ornate hallways, he suddenly stopped, finding himself face-to-face with Lucifer.

"My lord, do you need anything?" Vox asked, maintaining his composure despite the sudden encounter.

Lucifer looked at Vox, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Perfect timing, Vox. I need your help in promoting my theme park, Lu Lu World, again."

Vox sighed internally but kept his professional demeanor. "Is it something to do with ducks, apples again, or snakes? Or is it based on Prince Charlomaine, Princess Charlie, or Queen Lilith?"

Lucifer chuckled softly. "It's a bit of a mix, actually. We want to introduce a new section in the park dedicated to our family, and I thought your expertise would be invaluable in making it a success."

Vox nodded, already formulating ideas in his head. "Understood, my lord. I'll start working on some concepts right away. We could incorporate elements that highlight each member's unique traits and stories, making it an engaging experience for visitors."

Lucifer's smile widened. "That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'll leave it in your capable hands, Vox."

As Lucifer walked away, Vox couldn't help but feel a twinge of satisfaction. Even if he wasn't a royal demon, he had a significant role to play in Hell's ever-evolving landscape. With renewed determination, he headed back to his room, ready to dive into the project and prove his worth once again.

Yoy Vox

Vox turned his head to see who it was. Standing before him was Justice, another one of the Prince's loved ones.

"What do you want, Justice?" Vox asked, trying to keep his tone neutral.

Justice, with her imposing figure and confident demeanor, crossed her arms and looked at him intently. "I've heard about the new promotion for Lu Lu World. Charlomaine mentioned you might need some additional input to make it truly spectacular."

Vox raised an eyebrow. "And what kind of input are you offering?"

Justice smiled. "Charlomaine has some very specific ideas about how he and his family should be represented. He wants to ensure it's authentic and true to their essence. I'm here to share those details with you."

Vox sighed, but nodded. "Alright, let's hear it then. What does the Prince have in mind?"

Justice handed him a small, neatly folded piece of paper. "Here, these are his notes. He wants each section to reflect the core of who they are, not just their public personas. For example, a section for Charlomaine showcasing his journey, battles, and his vision for Hell's future. For Charlie, a more hopeful and uplifting area, reflecting her dreams of redemption and change."

Vox unfolded the paper and skimmed through the notes. "This... actually helps. Thanks, Justice."

Justice nodded. "Good. Remember, Vox, this isn't just a job for you. It's a chance to show your loyalty and creativity. Don't mess it up."

With that, Justice turned and walked away, leaving Vox to ponder over the new ideas. He felt a renewed sense of purpose. If he could pull this off, it would not only please Lucifer but also earn him more respect from Charlomaine and the rest of the royal family.

Vox went back to his room, ready to start working on the new, enhanced concepts for Lu Lu World, determined to make it a spectacular success.

Vox went back to his room, shutting the door behind him. He spread out Charlomaine's notes on his desk, taking a deep breath as he prepared to dive into the details.

---

Over the next few days, Vox worked tirelessly, collaborating with designers and engineers to bring Charlomaine's vision to life. He wanted to ensure that each area of Lu Lu World was not only visually stunning but also a true representation of the royal family. Vox's creativity soared as he conceptualized immersive experiences, interactive exhibits, and captivating performances.

The section dedicated to Charlomaine became a grand, epic area called "Charlomaine's Dominion." It featured a massive castle with battlements and towers, reminiscent of the battles Charlomaine had fought. Visitors would embark on a journey through his life, with animatronic displays, holographic projections, and thrilling rides that recounted his victories and the formation of his knightly order. There was even a section where guests could test their skills in mock battles, wielding replicas of Charlomaine's weapons.

For Charlie, the "Hope Haven" section was designed to be bright and uplifting. It showcased her vision of redemption and change with beautiful gardens, fountains, and serene landscapes. Vox incorporated interactive shows and musical performances to highlight her Disney Princess-like personality. The highlight of Hope Haven was the "Dreamer's Carousel," where visitors could ride on fantastical creatures, each representing a part of Charlie's dream for a better Hell.

Lilith's area, "Eternal Elegance," was an ode to her regal and commanding presence. It featured intricate gothic architecture, luxurious ballrooms, and art galleries filled with her favorite pieces. The main attraction was a grand masquerade ball, where guests could don elegant attire and dance the night away, experiencing a taste of the queen's refined world.

As Vox finalized the details, he felt a sense of pride. This project was more than just a promotion; it was a testament to his capabilities and loyalty to the royal family. He was determined to impress not only Lucifer but also Charlomaine and the rest of the family.

---

On the grand opening day of the revamped Lu Lu World, the park buzzed with excitement. Demons of all shapes and sizes lined up, eager to experience the new attractions. Vox stood at the entrance, welcoming guests with a smile. He had worked hard, and now it was time to see the fruits of his labor.

Charlomaine, Charlie, Lilith, and Lucifer arrived together, drawing the attention of everyone present. Vox approached them, bowing respectfully.

"Welcome, my lords and ladies. I hope the new sections meet your expectations," Vox said, his voice tinged with anticipation.

Charlomaine smiled, looking genuinely impressed. "You've done well, Vox. Let's see what you've created."

The royal family toured each section, with Vox guiding them and explaining the features. Charlomaine's Dominion drew gasps of awe and excitement, with the animatronic battles and immersive experiences captivating everyone. Hope Haven brought smiles and tears, capturing Charlie's vision beautifully. Eternal Elegance left Lilith speechless, her regal presence perfectly mirrored in the grand design.

As they finished the tour, Lucifer clapped Vox on the shoulder. "You've exceeded our expectations, Vox. This is truly magnificent."

Charlie hugged Vox, her eyes sparkling with joy. "Thank you, Vox. This means so much to me."

Lilith nodded approvingly. "You have done a splendid job, Vox."

Charlomaine smiled, a rare, genuine smile. "You've earned your place here, Vox. Thank you."

Vox felt a sense of fulfillment wash over him. This project had been challenging, but seeing the royal family's approval and the joy of the visitors made it all worthwhile. As the sun set over Lu Lu World, Vox stood at the entrance, watching the park come to life with happiness and excitement. He knew that this was just the beginning of his journey in Hell, and he was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.

Vox then looked at the family. "But it's not over yet. I have one final show."

As the royal family and everyone looked at the ride, it began to travel and stopped at a screen. Magic started to play, and a story began to unfold.

"Once upon a time, there was a glowing city protected by golden gates known as Heaven. It was ruled by beings of pure light, angels that worshipped good and shielded all from evil."

As the narration continued, the images showed the silhouette of Lucifer Morningstar, creating fireworks, which drew the ire and wrath of the angels for his behavior.

Lucifer looked at the screen, realizing it was essentially their origin story. Everyone turned their eyes to Vox, intrigued by the presentation.

"Lucifer was one of these angels. He was a dreamer with fantastical ideas for all of creation. But he was seen as a troublemaker by the elders of Heaven. For they felt his way of thinking was dangerous to the order of their world. So, he watched as the angels began to expand the universe in their ways. From the dust of Earth, they created Adam and Lilith, equals as the first of Mankind."

The angels then created a planet called Earth, where they produced the first humans, Adam and Lilith.

Hearing the name Adam, both Lucifer and Lilith exchanged looks and sighed, knowing well that he was getting what he deserved.

Lucifer then looked at Charlomaine. "How is Adam doing?"

Charlomaine looked at his father. "Very well. He's learning from his mistakes."

"But, despite this, Adam demanded control, and Lilith refused to submit to his will. She fled the Garden. Drawn in by her fierce independence, Lucifer found her, and the two rebellious dreamers fell deeply in love."

As the images showed Lilith rejecting Adam and fleeing, where she met Lucifer and fell in love, Lucifer and Lilith blushed a bit and got closer, while Charlie and Charlomaine smiled.

"Together, they broke one rule as they went and ate the apple of forbidden knowledge, wanting to do more. Together, they wished to share the magic of free will with humanity, offering the Fruit of Knowledge to Adam's new bride, Eve, who gladly accepted."

As the images continued, they depicted the offering of the apple to Eve.

Everyone knew where this was going, and Lilith and Lucifer felt a pang of shame for what they did; it was a lack of judgment that had made this happen.

"But this gift came with a curse. For with this single act of disobedience, evil finally found its way into Earth. With it, a new realm of darkness and sin. And the order Heaven worked to maintain was shattered. As punishment for their reckless act, Heaven cast Lucifer and his love into the dark pit he had created, never allowing him to see the good that came from humanity, only the cruel and the wicked. Ashamed, Lucifer lost his will to dream."

As they both fell from Heaven, the images showed them getting back up, even more determined.

"But they didn't give up. Using his power over creation, Lucifer created a place for him and Lilith. Lilith, using her power, made the people in Hell stronger. They worked hand in hand, ready to fight for every challenge."

Threatened by this, Heaven made a truly heartless decision: that every year, they would send down an army, an Extermination, to ensure Hell and its sinners could never rise against them.

As the images showed Cain and his army of exterminators descending into Hell, Lucifer sighed. "Really, does Hell think of Heaven like this?"

Charlomaine also sighed. "Yup, they do."

"But not all hope was lost, as from the royal blood, a royal child was born. This boy was now Prince Charlomaine. He went to the seven rings, made many changes, and gathered his twelve knights with him."

Images of Charlomaine going through his journey, one by one gathering his knights—Astolfo, Oton, Oliver, Gerier, Gerin, Berenginer, Samson, Engelier, Ivon, Roland, Bradamante, and Anseis—played on the screen.

Charlomaine blushed at that part, as his knights in the audience laughed, happy to see themselves there.

"But he was not the only child. They also had a daughter, Charlie, and just like her brother, she would make changes in Hell for the better."

As the ride stopped, all the demons clapped, and Vox just smiled. This was his best work. Charlie was a bit confused about why her voice was used but she didn't care. The applause grew louder, and Vox felt a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Lucifer stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with approval. "Vox, this was outstanding. You've outdone yourself."

Lilith nodded in agreement. "You've captured our history and our hopes beautifully."

Charlomaine smiled, still a bit embarrassed but proud. "Thank you, Vox. This means a lot."

Charlie, beaming, hugged Vox. "This was amazing. Thank you."

Vox, feeling a rare moment of humility, bowed slightly. "It was my honor. Thank you all for giving me this opportunity."

As the crowd dispersed, the royal family stayed behind a bit longer, reflecting on the ride and their past. Lucifer put an arm around Lilith, who leaned into him, while Charlie and Charlomaine stood side by side, their bond stronger than ever.

The future of Hell seemed a bit brighter that night, thanks to Vox's dedication and creativity. And as they left Lu Lu World, they all knew that they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, united as a family.
