No, this is a bustling city, and the name of the city is Crystal City. The name came to be as it is famous for its crystal mines, which are even exported to other nations.
This city is a big trade city and that is why connected to Glessaria.
Redthorne Empire does not need to worry that a small kingdom like Glessaria or other kingdoms would invade them. The kingdoms would be afraid of the empire, not in the reverse.
This is why, they placed the teleportation point in a major city.
