Tracie couldn't believe her eyes. The person right saying all sorts of trash to Fiona was her very own husband.
Tracie didn't think she needed to investigate her husband because from what she'd seen when she'd been stalking Fiona, they were in a happy marriage. They showed the public that they were in love and they were happy.
"Look at you," he sneered, squatting down so his face was level with hers. His voice was calm, almost mocking, as his cold eyes scanned her battered body. "You look miserable. So very miserable." He tilted his head slightly, a cruel smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "But you could have saved yourself all this pain if you'd just handed over the money I asked for."
'Money? What money is he talking about?' Tracie wondered.
"You can just stay here and suffer for all I care," he sneered with disdain evident in his tone.
"You'll pay for this," Fiona managed to say as she was still lying on the bed.
