Hestia blinked, her eyes flashing with a hint of shock. Soon after, a look of joy appeared on her face as she quickly understood what was happening.
Without hesitation, she rushed toward the source of the convergence.
"But..."
"Isn't the Queen of the Underworld supposed to be born from Demeter under normal circumstances?"
"Never mind!"
"It doesn't matter!"
Hestia shook her head, deciding not to dwell on the details.
In fact, she wasn't really interested in such matters.
In reality, aside from the births of Uranus, Cronus, Zeus, and Abel being predetermined and unchangeable, even Hades and Poseidon didn't necessarily have to be the children of Cronus and Rhea.
Such things could change, let alone the birth of the Queen of the Underworld or the Queen of the Sea, so-called "special" gods. Though they were destined to be born from the Mythical World, the way in which they emerged didn't have to follow a fixed path.
Even though these gods were meant to come into existence eventually, it didn't mean they would appear according to the predetermined trajectory. Quite the opposite, there could be many issues, even significant ones.
These issues, when presented, could only be accepted.
However!
The upside was that the Queen of the Underworld was being born in the Mortal World, which currently belonged to the Underworld. Had this happened elsewhere, things might have gone awry.
Especially since...
Along with the birth of the Queen of the Underworld, a special divine artifact was also emerging!
The stars shone with boundless light, while the laws of war, death, fate, sleep, and more began to manifest.
Led by Aether, the gods of the Underworld emerged in full force. They silently encircled the entire Far North, with dark purple divine energy spreading from them, gradually enveloping everything around them.
This scene made it clear just how much the Underworld valued the birth of their queen.
This was, after all, the Queen of the Underworld!
And...
As time passed, within the convergence of the laws of life and death, a graceful figure imbued with the endless laws of the Underworld slowly emerged from the darkness.
With each step she took, the ice and snow melted, and the eternally frozen Far North suddenly bloomed with the vibrant life of spring. This was an almost unimaginable event.
However!
Anyone with even a slight grasp of divine power could tell that this springtime transformation wouldn't last long—at most, it would last for three months. After that, the cycle would repeat the following year.
Clearly!
The birth of the Queen of the Underworld brought a brief, but beautiful, season of spring to the usually barren and snow-covered Far North.
This was quite different from the traditional birth of the Queen of the Underworld, which, according to myth, led to the onset of winter as she was taken by the Lord of the Underworld. Now, however, everything seemed completely transformed.
A stunning woman, clad in a white gown, wearing dark purple heels, and holding a dark purple staff, emerged. She had long golden hair, contrasting with her pitch-black eyes and bright red lips. Her smile radiated both nobility and allure.
The beauty mark on her forehead only added to her seductive charm. Compared to the Lord of the Underworld, her aura was entirely different, yet they complemented each other perfectly.
The two of them!
Like yin and yang, life and death, they were identical in their complementary nature, resonating in perfect harmony. The more this was realized, the more unbelievable it seemed, didn't it?
"I..."
"My name is Persephone."
The Queen of the Underworld's voice was elegant and noble, filled with emotion, unlike Hades' emotionless tone. Yet there was something uncanny about it.
Despite the clear difference in their voices, it felt eerily familiar, as though the same person was speaking. This only added to the sense of strangeness.
Similar.
So similar.
The resemblance was uncanny.
Though Hades and Persephone were entirely different beings, they gave off the same impression, making the entire situation feel even more peculiar and unsettling.
"Greetings, Queen of the Underworld!"
All the gods of the Underworld, including Hestia, knelt on one knee, heads bowed in solemn respect, declaring their loyalty to the Queen.
This was their loyalty to the Queen of the Underworld!
And their loyalty to the Lord of the Underworld!!!
Persephone raised her hand slightly, signaling the gods to rise. As she surveyed her surroundings, she turned to Hestia with a thoughtful look. "Sister, would you care to join me for a walk?"
Persephone showed no hesitation as she approached Hestia, linking arms with her. Despite one being tall and regal and the other petite and childlike, they gave off the endearing appearance of a mother and daughter, creating a charming contrast.
Hestia blinked. Being quick-witted, she immediately understood Persephone's intentions and smiled warmly. "Of course! Let's go! After all, the Mortal World is now Underworld territory!"
"Good."
Persephone nodded, and the two women departed together. The other gods exchanged glances, unsure of what had just transpired, but soon decided to obediently return to the Underworld.
Since the Queen of the Underworld had made her choice, and Hestia hadn't objected, the fact that their Lord allowed this to happen showed that everything was as it should be.
One by one, the gods left.
As the gods departed, Persephone and Hestia strolled through the springtime of the Far North, chatting and laughing like sisters, both wearing joyful expressions.
Hestia knew exactly what her sister-in-law was planning, and she was genuinely happy. Her newly born sister-in-law had immediately embraced her destiny and accepted it with such seriousness and commitment.
As for Persephone, she, as the Queen of the Underworld, saw this as her rightful duty.
Born from the laws of the Underworld, Persephone and Hades were like a marriage of fate. They were, after all, the most fitting pair of gods.
