Unlike the monstrous images of ghosts and monsters that Tang Jin and Yu He had imagined,
the apparition before them did not display any tragic visage to frighten others.
Instead, in her arms, she cradled a small cat that seemed to lack eyes. Her black hair was braided into plaits that fell softly over her shoulders, and her face, too white, was indeed translucent, showing not the slightest hint of color. Yet, she smiled, dressed simply in white with jeans, and an apron of bright yellow draped over.
Her eyes conveyed overwhelming apologies and frustration.
Upon realizing they had finally noticed her, she let out a long sigh of relief.
"I've been stuck here for more than ten days, unable to find my way out," she said.
Her gaze then shifted to Little Bun.
"Little cutie, I really owe you one, otherwise I wouldn't have known what to do. This place lets me in but not out, leaving me feeling like a shrimp or fish trapped in a cage, no way to get back out."
