Eugene initially didn't recognize Vasily's voice and looked him up and down—compared to Yegorov, he indeed wasn't as familiar with the Marshal's aide.
"Ah, you're the one who shovels manure!"
Vasily almost couldn't catch his breath and hurriedly corrected, "I'm the musician! No, I'm the Marshal's Deputy Officer!"
He never liked being called a musician by others.
Eugene: "Then tell the Marshal that we can still barely move, at least better than Yegorov's troops."
Yegorov: "I haven't treated you badly, miner!"
"Enough!" Pavlov roared, and the entire room fell silent.
Pavlov: "Each one of you, an Admiral already! You're not young anymore, and you're married. What a joke! The matter of the assault group, the Front Army Headquarters has its own arrangements, wait quietly for orders."
"I assure you, when the Marshal returns, his scolding will be harsher. Think it through! He's returning soon."
Yegorov and Eugene exchanged bewildered glances.
