Chapter 2 - Meeting You Was A Fate

After three delightful hours had passed, an Airhostess came with food. Eva was asleep, so jack bought food for both of them and placed it on the seat. He waited a moment for Eva to awaken from her peaceful slumber. After some time, Eva woke up.

Jack: Did you wake up? I bought your food because you were sleeping.

Eva: Thankyou, I fell Asleep

Jack: I forgot to ask your name. May I know your name?

Eva: Yes I'm Eva.

After an 8-hour journey through the skies and navigating the maze of airport formalities, they emerged from the bustling terminals.

Eva: Hey Jack, could you grace me with your contact details? In case I find myself in need, may I reach out to you?

Jack: Absolutely.

(Jack shared his contact number)

Lilly: Hey Eva..

(Lily is her cousin. Lilly is an entrepreneur and runs a boutique in London. Lily ran over and hugged her.)

In the vibrant streets, Jack crossed paths with his beloved friends. Although Jack wished to say bye to Eva and talk to Lilly, Eva was engaged in conversation with Lilly, so Jack moved towards his friend's direction. Eva, wanting to introduce Lilly to Jack, followed him. However, they couldn't find Jack. In a delightful twist of fate, Eva's gaze shifted back to remembering Jack and she promptly turned to introduce Lily to him. Alas, Jack had vanished amidst the lively crowd. A sense of melancholy washed over Eva, for she longed to exchange goodbyes with Jack and inquire about his whereabouts.

"Hey Eva, what occupies your thoughts at this moment? Are my words reaching you? Shall we whisk away in a taxi?" inquired Lily with curiosity.

Regaining her composure, Eva replied, "Apologies, dear Lily. Let's go"

Lily and Eva got into a taxi.

They arrived at apartment number 14 in Camden City.

The room is on the 3rd floor.

Lilly: This is your room. When I was studying here, it used to be my room. You know, after a few days, I'll be seeing you here along with me. But tomorrow, I'll have to leave you and head to university. I really want to stay with you, but my boutique is too far from here, so I can't stay here. Whatever your wish is, just call me.

Eva: Thanks my sweetie. I know you're busy. It's okay if the boutique is far away. I'm glad you're here today.

Lilly: Didn't you mention the part-time job to me? There's a vacancy for an accountant trainee at a nearby LN1 software company. You will be interviewed tomorrow at 10:00 AM. You still have about 15 more days to start your classes, so there shouldn't be any hassle about attending the interview. If it's OK, I'll show you your university first, and I'll drop you off at that software company.

Eve: That's enough. Thank you sweetiee. I'll take a shower first. And then we can eat. I'm very hungry dear.

Lilly: Come quickly my dear. I'm hungry too. I bought food. We can eat it.

Eve: I'll be right back.

(After a while, they sat down to eat. )

Lilly: How's the food?

A: It's good. How's your work going?

Lily: It's going well. I have 4 assistants in the shop.

Eva: Good. Heard about your marriage plans from Uncle and Aunty. What's up?

Lilly: They're looking into it. But I'm not interested in marriage right now. If I find a partner I like, then I might consider it.

Eve: Is that so? Haven't you liked anyone so far?

Lily: No, not yet.

Eva: Hasn't any guy ever proposed to such an innocent and pretty girl like you? You'll find someone when the time is right.

So their conversation continued. On the very next day, Lilly was dropped off at LN1 Company and left behind. She was then called in for an interview. "Ms. Eva Mariya" summoned her as a lady interviewer. As Lilly went to pick up her file, she felt as if she had caught a glimpse of Jack. However, with the determination to proceed with the interview, she made her way to the office room.

So she passed the interview.

The interviewer said to her, "Tomorrow at 10:00 am, you can start your work. On the days you have classes, you should start work by 2:00 pm. You'll be working here as Mr. Jack's trainee accountant. We'll introduce you to Jack tomorrow. For now, you can leave. All the Best."

Eva: Thankyou Mam.

(After leaving there, she called a taxi and headed back to her room. The thought lingered in her mind: Was it really Jack I saw in the office? Would Jack be the one I saw on the flight that Mam mentioned? She pondered over these thoughts as she immersed herself in contemplation.)

She reached her room and took a nap.
