The busy work morning came to an end, and at noon, Meng Qian and Qiao Xia went out to eat instead of dining in the company building. The two enjoyed some spicy hot pot by the roadside. Qiao Xia had recently developed a taste for strong flavors—the spicier, the better.

The two laughed and joked their way back to the office. Suddenly, Meng Qian pulled Qiao Xia toward the 31st floor. "I heard today is the audition for TVE's New Year's film. Let's go have a look; there must be lots of celebrities."
