Chapter 61 - Hidden Inventory: Face to Face once more

The air in Jujutsu High was still. The only sound that remained was the quiet dripping of blood.

In the depths of the Tombs of the Star, Toji Fushiguro stood victorious. The muzzle of his gun still steamed with smoke, the evidence of his never missing marksmanship was the girl lying at his feet, Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel.

Her lifeless body lay motionless, her face still frozen in an expression of disbelief. Just seconds ago, she had smiled, believing she was free.

Toji had ended that dream in a single shot. Suguru stood on the side, still unable to register what had just happened. Just a second ago, he was watching a young girl finally walking out of her shell and embrace her true self and in the next moment, she was dead, her blood pooling at his feet.

The culprit, the very same person who had sneaked attacked Gojo walked out of one of the tunnels with a large grin on his face, not caring in the slightest that he had just killed a young innocent girl.

"Riko.."

Suguru's voice shook, his eyes filled with rage and murderousness. "You..Why are you here?" He asked, gritting his teeth, and hoping what he was thinking about was false. On the other hand, the murderer, Toji, scratched his head for a moment. "What do you mean, lad?" His voice was deep and nonchalant as usual. But after about a moment of recollection, he smirked and admitted. "Oh, I finally get you. I killed Gojo Satoru."

Suguru's head lowered. That single sentence sent a chill down Suguru's spine. His breath hitched, and for a moment, the we willight of those words crushed his entire being.

Gojo Satoru. His best friend. His strongest ally. The man who made the impossible look effortless.

Dead?

Suguru clenched his fists so tightly his nails dug into his palms. His body trembled, not in fear, but in rage. He didn't want to believe it. No, he refused to believe it. But the way Toji said it, so casually, as if it were nothing, made his blood boil.

"You... killed Gojo?" Suguru's voice was barely above a whisper, yet it carried all the venom and fury surging within him.

Toji however smirked in response. Unmoved by Geto's rage. An inky black portal slowly opened behind the youth, and a massive head reared out. The ground trembled. A guttural roar echoed through the tomb as a massive, coiling dragon of seven-colored energy erupted from behind Suguru, its scales shifting between hues of blue, red, and gold. Its prismatic eyes locked onto Toji, fangs bared.

That wasn't all. Another cursed spirit stormed out. A humanoid in the figure of a woman. Long hair flowed to her chest, and the wedding gown she wore was dyed with dirt and blood.

Toji's body tensed as the Rainbow Serpent lunged at him, its massive jaws wide open, ready to swallow him whole. The air shimmered with its sheer spiritual energy, its iridescent scales pulsing with raw, condensed cursed power.

But Toji Zen'in was not an ordinary man.

With an almost bored expression, he tightened his grip on the Soul Splitting Katana and moved.

In a blur, he dodged to the side, just as the serpent's jaws snapped shut, obliterating the stone floor where he had stood. Shards of rock exploded outward, but Toji was already airborne, flipping over the beast's massive body.

The serpent twisted unnaturally fast, its tail whipping through the air in an attempt to catch him mid-dodge. Toji saw it coming, adjusting his body mid-air with the instincts of a seasoned predator. He planted a foot against the cavern wall and launched himself upwards, straight toward the Rainbow Serpent.

The Soul splitting katana in his hand drew a massive arc and with a single, devastating slash, Toji sliced clean through the edge of the beast's mouth, his blade ripping through flesh, bone, and cursed energy alike.

"He killed the rainbow dragon?!" Geto murmured in shock and his eyes widened. The rainbow dragon was the toughest and most durable of his cursed spirits, just how much physical strength was needed to pull of this stunt?

Toni landed acrobatically, hefting the soul splitting katana onto his shoulder, with a small smirk. Geto on the other hand was more than furious. He wasted no time and utilized one of his trump cards. The innate domain of one of his Special Grades... Strong or not, Toji was going to die for everything...

.

Star Religious Group HQ..

Toji walked off after dropping the corpse of Riko Amanai and receiving his pay from the contractors. He walked out of the establishment with his hands in his pockets and a calm smile on his face. It'd been a long time since he had felt such joy and a rush of adrenaline.

He had singlehandedly taken down the hope of the Jujutsu World together all at once. Of course he had used underhanded means to wear them out, but in the end he had done the deed himself. He had killed the heir of the Gojo clan with his own two hands and had almost disposed off the curse user, had it not been the threat of unleashing hordes of cursed spirits onto Tokyo after his death.

Remorse? No. He could care less. What the Jujutsu world had taken from him couldn't even compare to this. These were the same people who had tried to take down Sasuke. Had the kid not been resourceful and resilient, he would've died.

As he walked out of the gate, his sight was blinded by the sunlight, however, when clarity returned to him, he was simply shocked by the current turn of events.

He frowned deeply, even gasping in surprise. "You've got to be kidding me.."

"Yo! Long time no see.." The source of his shock was a bloodied tall handsome young man standing several meters away from him like a ghost. Gojo. His white hair was stained with blood, yet his eyes glowed with an ever brightening glow, his face morphed into a mix of craziness and ecstasy.

"Is he using..Reverse Cursed Technique?" Toji eyes squinted for a moment, but realization dawned on him and he whispered, clenching his fist. He knew just exactly what those words meant for a sorcerer. It was a milestone that was almost uncrossable for most..

"You're right!!" Gojo began to chatter, high on the sudden raise and substantial increase in his strength. He was on top of the world now. He had broken through all his limits. He felt unstoppable. "....I grasped the core of cursed energy on my death bed. And now, you'll lose....because you failed to cut off my head and failed to stab my head with that cursed sword of yours!"

Toji's heart shook for a moment there. A part of him wanted to escape, leave everything behind. At full speed, he was certain he would leave Gojo behind in the dust, but impulse defeated reason. He had killed him once, he'd do it again, and this time fair and square.

"I'll lose?! This battle has just began!!"

"Yeah..Maybe! It has!!!!"

He pulled out the Inverted Spear of Heaven and went on the offensive against a power drunk Gojo. The inverted spear of Heaven twirled within his palm, and he lashed out angrily.

SLASH!

Gojo simply sidestepped the onslaught with minimal effort and then he flipped over Toji. His body seemed to levitate in the air and then he countered.

"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red.."

Holding up two fingers, a small crimson sphere of concentrated energy materialized and then exploded with incredible might. Toji was caught offguard. His body was catapulted into the distance, crashing into multiple structures until he skidded to a stop.

"Monster.." Toji regained his senses, and while he was bleeding from his scalp, he suffered nothing serious. His eyes glared towards Gojo who was levitating effortlessly in the air like madman and then he smirked. Things were getting real interesting.

"The power to stop. Attract. Repel. What he used was the Reversal of the Limitless. Pouring positive energy into the Limitless to unleash that shockwave. Still, I can handle it."

Toji frowned towards the end. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. "Nah. I'll finish this!"

He arose, stretching his back, before he pieced up the chain of a thousand miles, to the butt of the Inverted Spear of Heaven. He was ready to go all out. "Die!" The blade tore through the air towards Gojo at incredible speeds. Toji was a weapon's master. Using the chained blade was a piece of cake. He twirled unnatural and sent it hurtling towards Gojo's figure like an arrow.

But, nothing he did or tried could touch the boy. It was like he could see the attack coming before they did. He wasnt even focused on the fight, from Toji's perspective. All he was doing was dodging the inverted spear of Heaven with simple movements, and that was until Toji heard him utter something.

The sky brightened, the golden sun peering down onto his figure, bathing him a surreal glow. He looked like a God from Heaven and in that moment, he uttered. "Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honoured one.."

Toji felt it. Trepidation? Fear? Dread? He didn't know what it was. Gojo's arms twirled slowly and then he held his fingers out. "Hollow Purple.."

A wave of destructive purple energies tore through matter and space itself, churning and wiping anything in its path like a tidal wave. Toji stood there flabbergasted. He has never heard of this technique. Then, he felt it. Impulse disappeared and reason rang within his mind, this time accompanied by fear and dread. He felt it. For a long time Toji finally felt something he never thought he'd experience again- death.

However...

Purple radiance exploded in the distance. A slender arm wrapped around him, and right then and there, a purplish avatar sprang to life around him, and a pained grunt resounded beside him, drawing him out of his reverie. He turned to the side to see his nephew, Sasuke clasping his bleeding lower face, while his other hand was stretched outward, shivering to maintain the protection around them.

Sasuke wiped the blood from his nose and spat out the remaining, before he exhaled slowly. Hollow Purple was truly broken. He saw it slowly eating away at his Susano'o faster than he could regenerate it. Sighing, he grabbed Toji and substituted them out of its range.

Gojo's eyes widened for a moment, and his brows furrowed. His high was over. Right in front of him, was the last person he wanted to see in this world, and the man who had killed Riko Amanai. His lips slowly cracked into a grin and he walked towards them both.

"We meet again, Sasuke." Gojo laughed, pocketing his right hand. Sasuke raised his head, slowly staggering to his feet as he employed his Reverse Cursed Technique. " I would've loved to meet under better conditions, Gojo, but turns out, we're fated to be at each other's throats for life..." Sasuke laughed, his voice strained, as his Sharingan glared into the Six Eyes.

A/N: You thought this was over? Nope. Just been sick for a while and focusing on my new book, but I'm back. Stay tuned.
