Chapter 253: One vs. Eleven!
Beerus glared at the group charging toward him, desperately trying to break free from the grasp of the robotic God of Destruction, Mosco. As the attacks of the other Gods of Destruction closed in, he summoned every ounce of his strength and managed to wrench himself free from Mosco's grip.
In an instant, the combined attacks of Champa, the Mouse God, and the Elephant God crashed straight into Mosco, colliding with him head-on. This scene left the remaining Gods of Destruction utterly shocked.
"Where's Beerus?!"
They were astonished by how quickly he had escaped and began searching the arena frantically, failing to locate him.
Suddenly, a voice rang out:
"Up above!"
The Gods of Destruction immediately turned their attention upward, dashing toward the indicated direction. However, upon arriving at the location, they froze in confusion.
What they saw wasn't Beerus—it was Champa! He stood there, battered and bruised, clearly just having taken a beating.
"Wasn't Champa down below just now?"
The gods were dumbfounded.
As they searched for Beerus, a streak of purple light flashed across their vision. All eyes turned downward to see an energy wave shooting up toward them—it was Beerus!
Hiding under Mosco's arm, Beerus grinned smugly. "Try this on for size!" he taunted as he unleashed a powerful, purple ki blast.
The ki wave erupted midair, shrouding the sky in smoke and dust. The Gods of Destruction didn't have time to dodge and were struck head-on. The spectators were stunned—Beerus hadn't held back in the slightest. Could such an attack have eliminated the others outright?
However, their fears proved unnecessary.
As the smoke cleared, all the Gods of Destruction stood unscathed. Surrounding them was a transparent shield that had deflected Beerus's attack entirely.
This shield was cast by Sidra, the God of Destruction of Universe 9.
"Thank you! Without you, we might've actually fallen for Beerus's trick!" said Giin, the God of Destruction from Universe 12, expressing his gratitude.
"Hahaha…" Sidra chuckled. "No one can beat my speed when it comes to deploying defensive barriers!"
Just as Sidra basked in his triumph, a sudden, invisible attack slammed into him, sending him flying. The Gods of Destruction were stunned.
"What happened? Was that Beerus?"
It wasn't. The attack came from Belmod, the God of Destruction from Universe 11, who grinned and shrugged. "Sorry, couldn't resist. He left too many openings."
He then added mockingly, "Besides, this isn't just a battle with Beerus. Only one of us can be the strongest. There's no room for alliances in this fight!"
Belmod's words shattered the fragile alliance the Gods of Destruction had initially formed, leaving it irreparably broken. They instinctively distanced themselves from one another, each eyeing their peers with caution.
The air grew heavier with tension, as though ready to ignite.
The Mouse God clapped his hands gleefully. "Wonderful! This just got a whole lot more interesting!"
The chaos on the battlefield caused uproar among the spectators.
Initially, they thought it would be a one-versus-eleven fight.
But now it was clear—it had devolved into an all-out brawl!
---
"This is it! A battle royale among the Gods of Destruction! This is what we've been waiting for! Earlier, things were intense, but this—this will show us the true might of the gods!"
"Finally! This is going to be insane!"
In the stands, the audience from various universes erupted in excitement. Despite not being deities themselves, their immense strength made them eager to witness the full power of the Gods of Destruction.
However, not everyone shared this enthusiasm.
On Universe 11's viewing platform, two individuals remained calm: Toppo and Jiren.
Toppo, a candidate for the next God of Destruction, and Jiren, a warrior whose strength surpassed even the gods, watched the unfolding battle with quiet detachment.
They were well acquainted with the powers of the Gods of Destruction and felt no particular thrill in seeing their abilities. Instead, their attention was focused on observing potential opponents in the spectator stands—those who might pose a challenge in the future.
Meanwhile, in Universe 7's viewing platform, excitement reached a fever pitch.
"Yes! This is it! A real battle between the strongest beings! That earlier skirmish was just bullying. Now that it's a free-for-all, we'll see the true rankings of the Gods of Destruction!"
"But even from just a glimpse, their strength is terrifying!"
Everyone nodded in agreement. Though they had always known the Gods of Destruction were powerful, it was rare to see them unleash their full potential. This battle was a rare opportunity to witness the pinnacle of divine combat.
Olibu, silently watching the battle from the stands, wondered if he could withstand such devastating power.
"Could I deflect that?" he mused to himself. The answer seemed obvious—it was impossible. If he were caught in that level of combat, he'd likely be defeated instantly.
"My battle power is still too low. If only I were stronger, my limits would be much higher," he lamented. Despite years of training, his power level had only barely reached tens of millions. Luck had granted him the chance to compete in Universe 7's martial arts tournament and eventually enter the realm of the Gods of Destruction, where his strength had surpassed one billion. But now, he felt that was his limit. Further growth seemed unattainable.
