Chapter 16 - Chapter 15

"Soya-san, please help me out. I really need money right now. If I only rely on E-rank gathering quests, I might not even have enough for a night's stay at the inn."

Rejected by the other party, Gin could only attempt to elicit sympathy from Soya to gain her assistance.

However, what Gin didn't expect was that instead of helping him abuse her position, Soya enthusiastically invited Gin to stay at her home!

"Soya-san, isn't this a bit too much? Although we hit it off just now, we only met today, and you're already inviting me to stay at your place..."

Gin didn't expect that girls in this other world could be so bold. Even though his looks might have contributed significantly, a girl being this forward on the first day of meeting him made Gin start to wonder if he had arrived in a not-so-decent other world!

As everyone knows, even in anime, there is a distinction between surface-level and deeper content. If it's surface-level, a typical fantasy world is either passionate or comedic.

But if it's deeper content... if Gin went home with her, the subsequent plot would likely be 'paid content'.

To be fair, given the high proportion of handsome men and beautiful women in this world, even if it were a deeper-content world, it's not entirely impossible.

After struggling with Soya's enthusiastic invitation for a long time, Gin eventually declined.

If it were before, Gin wouldn't mind engaging with her.

However, as an adventurer, he didn't know how long he would stay in this city. Gin wouldn't refuse a casual fling, but being responsible was another matter entirely.

"Come on, what are you thinking? I'm a guild staff member, so I usually stay at the guild. However, I have a vacant house in this town. I meant you could temporarily stay there.

As for the rent, you don't need to worry. Just pay me back whenever you're financially comfortable."

"Well, that's what I meant. We've known each other for less than a day, and you're lending me your house. Is that really okay?"

As a gentleman, Gin naturally couldn't admit he had misunderstood, so he calmly responded, making Soya feel embarrassed for her earlier thoughts.

"It's not a problem. The house is big, and besides you, there's another tenant. She's beautiful but very strong. Don't try to mess with her."

After giving Gin the magic key to her house and informing him of the location, Soya continued, "If you want to quickly raise your adventurer rank and take on higher-level quests, there's another way.

That's to team up with high-level adventurers. This way, you can receive high rewards, ensure safety, and gain a lot of experience.

Generally, high-level adventurers are reluctant to take on rookies, but since I've been working in the guild for a while, I have some connections."

Soya couldn't quite explain why she was offering so much help to a newly met adventurer. Besides his looks, she saw great potential in him.

As a guild receptionist, she dealt with various adventurers daily. Gin was the first rookie to give her such a feeling.

"Thank you, Soya-san. When I'm financially stable, I'll repay the rent double."

Providing a place to stay and finding ways for him to take on higher-level quests, Gin couldn't be ungrateful. Though he wasn't used to working in a team, he had no other options, so he accepted Soya's offer.

"Soya-san, we're here! What do you need help with? And if we help you this time, will you really have dinner with me?"

Not long after, the high-level adventurers Soya mentioned arrived at the guild. There were three of them, led by a handsome blonde guy.

The guy seemed to be Soya's avid pursuer, and Soya had promised to have dinner with him in exchange for his help.

"Rex, this is my younger brother from the countryside. He just registered as an adventurer today and wants to experience the life of a high-level adventurer. But I'm a bit worried, so I asked you for help."

Hearing Soya's words, the blonde guy named Rex thumped his chest. He had been pursuing Soya for a while and wouldn't miss a chance to impress her.

Since the guy was Soya's brother, if he could show his strength and make him his little fan, it would speed up his progress in wooing Soya.

"What could a kid from the countryside possibly know? As long as I show my skills, he might even put in a good word for me with Soya-san."

"Soya-san, don't worry. I'll take good care of your brother and show him the strength of high-level adventurers. Where is he?"

Following Soya's gaze, Rex and his team looked at Gin, who also glanced at the trio.

"Soya-san, he's the one you said is your... brother from the countryside?"

Seeing Gin, Rex and his team were dumbfounded. They didn't expect to run into Gin again in this big town, and he turned out to be Soya's brother?

Indeed, Rex and his team had met Gin before. To be precise, they had separated not long ago.

The trio in front of him were the same adventurers who had planned to sell Isami Yosuke as a rare half-beast in the forest but were beaten up by Gin. After bringing Gin and Yosuke to the town, Gin let them go.

"What's wrong? Do you know each other?" Soya asked, seeing the surprised expressions of Gin and Rex's team.

"Kind of. I got lost in the forest, and they brought me to this town...

Hmm, they even gave me a big bag of copper coins, saying it was all their savings…"
