Chapter 34 - Chapter thirty: the third holy war

The troops teleport alongside Hi´s party and prepare to march. Hi´s party is in the lead and protects the rearside too. They march through the village and don´t stop. The troops march up the mountains into the dark green forests littered with ancient ruins. "Status report: Gale, Yuxuan." Hi tells them. "The demons aren´t there." Gale says. "My beasts can´t pick up a scent." Yuxuan says. "This is strange. Attention to all troops! Be prepared for an ambush from the demons! Mages set up some traps and barriers and healers provide support. Everyone with ranged projectiles be prepared to shoot!" Hi tells them. "Do what as he says!" the general says confirming the order. Everyone gets ready and the troops and tempel ritter move along in a protective circle formation with the spearmen with their shields. The demons prowl out in the woods and got them surrounded. The demons start with a barrage of arrows which bounce of the magic barriers. "The demons are in the woods!" Gale says pointing to them. "Return fire!" the general commands. The troops send a rain of arrows and magic at the direction of the arrows. "It´s a hit!" someone says. The demons come out of the shadows and begin charging at them the arrows bouncing off their tough skin and armor but slowing them down nonetheless. The demon generals and archdemons join the fray but each one of Hi´s hunting party meets them head on and fights with them. The demon generals: Yamata no Orochi, Takeda, a demon samurai, Sapherion, the allknowing, Kuroi, the shadow, Aoi, the flash and Akkai, the red storm. Some Archedemons are there too, one is covered in plants and the other one is big and tall. Magnus, Sascha, Erik and Gale stay behind to protect the troops and provide valuable support. Hi takes on Yamata no Orochi, Byakuya takes on Takeda, Sozin takes on Akkai, Lucius takes on Kuroi, T´chal takes on Aoi, Yuxuan the big strong one and Vernon the one covered in plants. The battle has just begun. Akkai jumps in front of Sozin and their fight begins. Akkai is a demon coverd in sizzling red hot scales and his arms are green and covered in fire too. "What are you doing here old man!?" Akkai asks. "I´m no old man compared to you at least!" Sozin responds drawing his sword. "You didn´t just say that compared to you I´m still in my prime!" Akkai says dashing at him with his fists. "Not so fast!" Sozin says blocking his attack. "Lucky one!" he says launching a flurry of heavy blows each with an explosive force. Sozin blocks all of them. "Was that all?" Sozin asks. "Not even remotely close!" he says charging up his fists and using both of them at the same time launching a powerful explosive orb at Sozin. Sozin dodges that one and Akkai rushes in again. Akkai catches his sword and throws it away. "What you´re gonna do whitout your weapon?" Akkai asks. Sozin punched him in the face when he was looking at the sword. "You think you´re tough?" Akkai asks and attacks again. Sozin reflects all of the attacks. "Keeping on the defense will not stop me!" Akkai says. "Exactly what an idiot would say." Sozin says catching his arm and throwing him to the ground breaking his arm. Akkai stands up and heals his broken arm. "That won´t kill me!" he says. "But this will!" Sozin says from behind him stabbing him in the back and blowing his body up. "Impossible!" Akkai says turning into dust. Meanwhile Lucius is fighting Kuroi. Kuroi seperates them from the fight and covers the area in darkness. Lucius responds with light. Kuroi creates shadow clones of himself and attacks Lucius all at the same time. Lucius uses light magic and disperses all the clones. "Your petty tricks won´t work on me!" Lucius says. "Let´s find shall we?" he says increasing the darkness so that Lucius light only lights up the area right in front of him. Lucius focuses up and draws a pentagram on the ground which forms a golden barrier. Kuroi tries to get in but can´t. He circles around attacks and attacks. Lucius gathers his magic and starts channeling a spell. Kuroi finally breaks the barrier and stabs Lucius. "Now you can´t use your spell!" he says. "You fell for it!" Lucius says unleashing his spell. The area is covered in a blinding light and all demons are weakened for a moment. Lucius walks up to Kuroi´s real body and decapates him with his sword. "This is the end for you." Lucius says. Meanwhile Yuxuan battles a beast. The demon is very big like a bear and has strong forearms with big meaty claws. It has a long drooling face and is very monster like but still has all the features of a demon horns and sharp teeth. The demon has no toughts except to kill. The demon attacks Yuxuan, who dodges their attacks. She summons some beasts to deal with it but they are shredded to pieces instantly. "Jeez, You´re a strong one." she says summoning a big turtle to protect her. The demon blows through the turtle and Yuxuan dodges placing a poisonous centipede on it´s arm and jumps off. She summons some snakes hornets and other insects and fills the demon with poison. The demon attacks nonetheless but is predictable so Yuxuan dodges it. She pull out her flute and can soothe him for a little while. The poisons and venom starts to kick in and the demon falls to the ground paralyzed. "Let´s see what poisons you can resist and which ones are effective against demons." Yuxuan says placing more posionous creatures on the demon. After some time the demon starts foaming out of it´s mouth with blood red eyes and irritated skin. From inside his blood expands and explodes spreading even more poison. The demon fades away. Meanwhile Vernon fights the demon covered in plants. The demon attacks spreading his glowing yellow green seeds and they hit the ground infesting it with sharp wooden splinters. Vernon dodges around using different fruit freezing him adding oil and adding fire. Vernon gets hit and is starting to be covered in plants. "Thank you for your support!" he says absorbing the plant seeds and throwing it at the demon. The demons starts to be infested but stops it because it´s his own technique. Vernon hits him with thorny venomous vines and poisons it. Vernon touches the demon and it dies and in it´s stead plants grow out of the now vanished corpse. T´chal fights Aoi. "Let´s see if you can keep up!" he says zooming past him with incredible speed leavin behind a blue flash. T´chal can feel his fur standing up and can feel the change in air flow and can dodge accordingly additionally he can hear the demons movements. He dodges it and with his flexibility can attack him from any angle. He cuts the demon up with his shamshir. The demon heals up. "Lucky shot!" he says charging himself up even more and getting faster and stronger and overwhelms T´chal. "Guess you leave me no other choice. I´ll have to use that form to kill you!" T´chal says. "What form?" the demon asks excited. "You´ll see!" T´chal says dropping his weapons and accepting his beast panther side. His fur stands up his eyes become slit and his claws and stature grows his fur increases. He looks like a humanoid panther now. He roars out and starts attacking Aoi. Aoi dodges around and attacks but with each attack T´chal hits him too. Eventually T´chal pins Aoi to the ground and crunches through his neck and starts devouring him. Aoi dies. Now back to Byakuya who fights Takeda. "I challenge you to a duel young man!" Takeda says. "I accept your challenge, great samurai Takeda." Byakuya says. "You know my name?" he asks. "Yes, you were a strong and honorable samurai but your thirst for power turned you into a demon, the least I can do is put you down fair and square!" Byakuya says. "Let´s see you try!" he says readying his stance both assume an iaido stance and get ready.
