Vanessa and Erin have both been dating since high school, vanessa was rich, beautiful and popular, her entire future was already planned out but Erin. He was just on of the sons of the Quinn family, e wasn't that important because his father unlike the other Quinn brother, had gambled away all his shares leaving his son and wife with absolutely no inheritance.
He had approached vanessa because of her wealth and in order to get her attention he lied about being the main heir to the Quinn enterprise and vanessa was unaware that the main heir all along was Rowen.
