Vanessa reluctantly got things ready for the dinner. She invited her mom and her sister, and Catherine invited the one person she knew was close enough to be considered family.
Soon it was seven, and Vanessa was getting dressed.
She was wearing a dark red, simple gown with just a piece of jewelry, simple and elegant.
Just as she was trying to get the zipper up, she had a nail breakage and groaned in pain. "Shit! Ouch…"
Meanwhile, watching her from behind was Rowen, who smiled as he walked toward her, helping her zip up her dress, taking her by surprise.
"You know you should knock before entering," she said, turning around.
"I am your husband, and this is our bedroom. I don't think I need to knock before entering. And anyway, what are you hiding that I haven't seen yet?"
He smirked as Vanessa just rolled her eyes and walked away, but was pulled back by Rowen.
