Harper returned home earlier. Social situations exhausted her, and she needed a moment to herself. However, the main reason behind her early departure was another: she didn't want to see Liam so soon. And she knew the girls would definitely want to go to his shop that day.
Seeing the boy stirred her heart too much, and she wasn't ready to deal with it yet. Even though she had already made the decision to divorce, she wanted time to do everything calmly.
She wanted and needed to prepare herself over the months, organize her life and, little by little, create the right moment to leave everything behind.
With this whirlwind of thoughts, she walked through the door of her house just as the first rays of sun were breaking on the horizon. However, upon entering, she was surprised by the absolute silence of the place.
The house was empty.
