The man blinked, hope flashing again in his face.
"But," Alexander added, a slow smile curling on his lips, a dangerous kind of smile, one that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"You will help us. I want every warehouse. Every shipment route. Every dirty little place connected to Nyom Brown."
He leaned in even closer, so the man could see his own reflection in Alexander's eyes.
"You help me take him down… and I'll make sure you don't just walk again..You'll rise."
The man nodded quickly, his voice shaking. "Yes. I will help you. I know places. Hidden ones too. I remember all of them…"
Alexander straightened up, fixing the cuff of his black sleeve.
"Good," he said with quiet finality.
Because mercy wasn't what Alexander offered.

Alexander stood stright slowly, the cool glow of the lab lights tracing the edges of his tall frame. He didn't speak again. The man in the wheelchair kept whispering promises and names, but Alexander had already looked away.
