Dimitri POV
He watched his brother on the private plane to Merak, with Luc gloating over his triumph to Irina and everyone who would listen.
If only Luc knew who was truly inside the section at the back of the plane, under guard and in disguise as his criminal brother. If only he knew who was beside "Dimitri" posing as Princess Ariana, supposedly unwell.
Irina mused nonchalantly, "It's a shame that the human princess is sick, We both would appreciate a little taste of her blood."
Ariana coughed delicately. "Yes, well, I'm told she developed a stomach bug. She was throwing up in the back of the plane. They had to give her something to put her to sleep."
Dimitri's stomach tied itself up in knots over the idea that an innocent man was imprisoned in his stead. Ariana no doubt felt the same while she made sure Irina's tea was just right. While he felt grateful Ariana still stayed safely hidden, he hated the idea that he still went in disguise like a coward.
