By the time Celeste was done, Wouter hadn't arrived yet. She looked out the window of her bedroom, examining the area around the mansion, only to realize that if what Avond had said was true, and there were people tailing her, they needed special equipment to be able to have that clean of a shot.
She always thought it was someone working for them from inside the house who was spying for Asti. Wasn't that the easiest way to spy on someone?
If Wouter arrived and she went with him, would the person catch that too?
Celeste bit her nails, wondering what Tiel would say if she went with Wouter to talk about Jade. Would he understand? Would he allow it or forbid it? She flicked her tongue. Sometimes it was better to be sorry than to ask for permission. But now was not the time.
