The dream's revelation still lingered as I watched the Onyx Court's castle come into view through the carriage's small window. I had chosen not to mention the contents of my dream to Callan. What good would telling this male the story of how my mother abandoned my brother and I do? He would only pity me, and I definitely didn't want that.
The moonlight shone bright, reflecting its light onto the castle's beautiful dark stone walls. If this castle were anything like the Seafoam Court's castle, then I imagined the inside would match its court's name as well.
We were approaching the doors of the castle when Callan spoke, drawing me from imagining the different ways the inside could look.
"I have already assigned you a lady in waiting. She will show you your rooms, wardrobe, assist with baths and dressing. I have one rule that I do ask you to follow," he said. I stopped looking out of the window at his last sentence. I sat back on my seat and turned to face him.
