Dear Jacob,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. It has been far too long since we last met, though at the very least, it's good that we've kept in touch through these letters.
On a lighter note, I must share something amusing that happened recently. One of the palace falconers accidentally released a prized bird during a training exercise. The poor man was chasing it all over the royal gardens while some nobles attending tea found it most entertaining. I dare say, it was the highlight of their week.
But to the matter at hand. I write to you with some urgency, as there is a situation that has arisen here in the kingdom of Drahgor that requires my attention—and, potentially, your assistance. I cannot speak of it in detail within the confines of this letter, for it is delicate in nature and not something I wish to entrust to parchment. However, it is of enough significance that I must ask you to visit me within the week, if you are able.
