Drifus and the young elf were both gone. The crowd of women also left. But Lenora was still in the inn. She was supposed to be a staff here, so she had to stay here for now.
"It'll be morning soon," the receptionist girl said. "But try to sleep for the time being. Even if you went, not like you can do anything."
"I know," Lenora said, yet she didn't stop staring out the window, towards the empty streets. At the slowly brightening horizon. "I'm the one who did this and that's why I want to see it through."
The woman sighed. "You robbed me of my most generous patron. How am I supposed to keep this place running now?"
"I suppose you'll just have to figure something out. Maybe make that man take responsibility? He seems to like spending nights with you," Lenora said.
The woman snorted. "That weasel? Responsibility? Don't make me laugh. He'll throw a bag of cash at my face and disappear the moment he thinks things are getting serious."
