Peter was in his element, completely absorbed in his experiments, carefully mixing compounds and running tests. His excitement was palpable as he adjusted the settings on an advanced microscope, while Harry prepped samples and Ned recorded data. The lab was filled with the hum of high-end equipment, the occasional beep of a machine completing a process, and Peter's excited rambling about molecular structures.
On the other side of the room, Nova was seated at the control station of the supercomputer, his fingers gliding over the keyboard as he ran diagnostic checks and system commands. A small smirk played on his lips—everything was running smoothly.
After ensuring there were no hidden cameras or surveillance devices, Nova rolled his shoulders before activating his Omnitrix. In a flash of green light, his body shrank, and in his place stood Grey Matter. His large brain pulsed slightly as he blinked up at the massive screen in front of him.
The problem? The keyboard was now comically oversized for his tiny hands, and worse—he was too small to even reach it from where he sat.
Peter turned around and instantly cracked up. "Oh man, this is gold! Look at him! He's like a tiny professor who can't reach his own desk!"
Harry leaned against the counter, smirking. "Hey, genius, did you think this through? Because I don't see you climbing up there anytime soon."
Ned grinned. "Should we grab him a booster seat? Maybe a tiny ramp?"
Nova rolled his eyes, sighing dramatically. "You think it's funny now, but just wait."
Peter raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? What's the plan, short stuff?"
Nova leaned in with a smirk, his voice low and threatening, "Well, I could just hop on this supercomputer here, load up some... interesting videos, and set the system to play them through Oscorp's entire network. And let's not forget—I can also change the voices. Maybe have Peter's voice reading off a romance novel, or Ned's voice screaming for... something else."
Harry looked between the three, wide-eyed. "Wait, wait, you wouldn't."
"Oh, I absolutely would," Nova grinned, clearly enjoying himself. "Just a couple of clicks, and your voices will be saying things you'll regret for the rest of your lives. So maybe keep the comments about me being fun-sized to yourselves?"
Peter's eyes widened in realization. "Okay, okay, we're sorry! No more ramp jokes. Promise!"
Ned shot a panicked look at Peter. "Yeah, uh, definitely not worth it. Let's get back to work."
Nova leaned back in his chair, satisfied. "Smart choice."
However, as he glanced at the table, his tiny frame faced the familiar challenge of reaching the keyboard. He hesitated for a moment before letting out an exaggerated sigh, trying to keep the humor in check. "Umm, anyone feel like helping the 'pint-sized genius' up to the table? Or should I just start calling for assistance?"
Despite the amusement bubbling up in him, the earlier threats still weighed on Harry, and he couldn't help but smile. Reluctantly, he stepped forward, bending down and carefully lifting Nova toward the table. "Alright, alright, don't get any funny ideas, Nova," Harry muttered, trying to keep his composure.
Peter and Ned couldn't suppress their chuckles as they watched. "Guess he's not a fan of self-sufficiency," Peter teased.
Nova grinned mischievously but held back his laughter. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. But remember, you all will die socially if you push me too far. One wrong move, and Oscorp's system will be serenading the whole building with your 'private performances.'"
Peter gulped, nodding rapidly. "Message received. Loud and clear."
Ned raised his hands in surrender. "Yeah, no need for that level of destruction, my dude. We respect the tiny but terrifying genius."
Harry just shook his head, still holding in his laughter. "Alright, let's get back to work before this turns into a full-blown hostage situation."
Nova smirked, cracking his knuckles as he finally reached the keyboard. "Now that's more like it."
After a few more jokes, Nova focused on his screen. Then he picked up his system mobile, which he connected to the supercomputer infront of him.

Grey Matter ignored the major system breach he had just executed like it was a routine login. Without so much as a glance at the screen still flashing confirmation messages, he began tapping swiftly on the interface of his now-linked system mobile. His tiny fingers moved with practiced ease, navigating layers of encrypted files and hidden databases like a master pianist on a familiar tune.
His first task: analyze the experimental serum formula they had been working on. Making sure that it won't cause any unknown problems. He brought up the chemical structure, cross-referencing it with existing compounds in the Oscorp archives, and then rerouting it through his own custom-built simulation algorithm. Then he left it for processing in the background while he turned his attention to the second, far more intriguing objective.
With a few swift keystrokes, Grey Matter accessed the secured genetic profiles of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger—data gathered from earlier Omnitrix scans. On the massive display, twin DNA strands unraveled, glowing with soft pulses of energy as arcane data layers overlaid the standard genetic structure.
He immediately began isolating the segments tied to the Thaumic Conduit Gene.
Both samples displayed the gene clearly and fully integrated into their genome. In Hermione's case, the expression was refined—calm, methodical, precise. In Harry's, the same gene expressed itself with high activity and stronger fluxes. Their DNA, while exhibiting different expression patterns, shared identical compatibility with the Thaumic signature.
Nova began constructing comparative overlays.
He highlighted magical flow channels across both subjects, mapping arcane movement through the thaumaturgic nodes, tracing how the gene rooted itself and remained stable under various conditions.
Chromosomal anchor points were cataloged and analyzed, while areas at risk of burnout or arcane feedback under stress were marked in red.
Then, he took it further.
He initiated a virtual fusion—not merging their DNA, but combining the thaumic expression profiles of both subjects into a single model. Hermione's structured control layered over Harry's raw energy. The result was beautiful—an elegant weave of magic flowing like a symphony across the helix. Balanced. Harmonized. Powerful.
This was the version Nova intended to introduce into himself.
Next, he uploaded his own base DNA into the simulation. The model shifted, adjusting to his enhanced human-mutation hybrid profile. The Omega-level X-gene lit up like a starburst at the center of his genome, surrounded by countless micro-adjustments—the legacy of having absorbed Morlun's life force. His physical strength metrics hovered near Captain America's, but his true advantage was adaptability.
He remembered the initial conflict—the way his X-gene had treated alien transformations as threats, causing the Omnitrix to trigger failsafes and shorten his transformation time. It had taken Morlun's energy to bridge the gap between human and alien biology.
This time, there could be no such mistake.
Nova began the simulation: integrating the composite Thaumic Conduit Gene into his own genome. The moment it touched his X-gene, the system flagged high volatility. Magical currents surged unpredictably.
He didn't flinch.
He activated a stabilizing field within the simulation, mimicking the bio-energetic resonance Morlun's essence had created. The Thaumic signature adapted—shifting subtly, finding anchor points between mutant pathways.
Compatibility: 42%... 67%... 79%...
More adjustments followed—microscale recalibrations, arcane dampeners, controlled trigger responses under stress.
Compatibility: 86%... 91%... 96%...
Then it plateaued.
Nova leaned forward, eyes narrowing as he analyzed the data. Integration was holding—but at 96%, the simulation projected minor instability during periods of intense transformation or extreme energy input.
Just as Grey Matter was about to initiate the final simulation, the Omnitrix let out a sharp beep. A flicker of green light washed over the room as he swiftly tapped a few commands into his system mobile. Without missing a beat, he hopped down from the table, reverting back to his human form mid-air with practiced ease.
The sudden light caught Harry's attention. He turned from the console and asked, "Did you finish running all the serum simulations?"
Nova nodded as he lowered himself into the chair, his eyes already scanning the rows of data now populating the screen. After a brief pause and a final check, he nodded again. "All simulations are stable. No mutations, no adverse reactions. Everything checks out. Just follow the exact formulation—use the adjusted ratios here—and the three of you can proceed with the injections."
Ned blinked, caught off guard. "Wait—the three of us?"
Peter tilted his head, frowning. "You're not taking it too, Nova? Why not?"
Nova leaned back in his chair, a calm confidence in his voice. "I've got my reasons. Nothing you need to worry about. I can turn into aliens, remember? Taking the serum isn't really necessary for me."
The others glanced at each other but didn't push. If Nova didn't want to go into details, they trusted him.
Instead, Ned leaned forward with a grin. "Alright, but when this is over, we're totally doing movie night at my place. No science, no training, just popcorn and bad decisions."
