Raelynn stormed into her room, slamming the door a little too hard behind her. The sharp sound echoed through the quiet hall, making her wince. "Ugh," she groaned under her breath, feeling the flush on her cheeks intensify. Without wasting another second, she marched straight to the bathroom and shoved the door shut with equal force.
She gripped the edges of the sink, her reflection staring back at her in the mirror—flushed cheeks, wide eyes, and a frazzled expression. "Get a grip," she muttered before splashing cold water onto her face. Droplets trailed down her skin, the shock of the cold grounding her, though it did little to calm the rapid beat of her heart.
Lifting her head, she studied herself again. "You slept with him," she reminded herself out loud, her voice filled with disbelief. "You're carrying his baby. Why the hell are you so embarrassed?"
