Chapter 196 - Chapter 196: Fairy City, Robbery, Entering

Of course, Ronan knew that everything Havide did was out of respect for Orrion.

After briefly meeting the other members of the Blue Mist Society, they began discussing matters related to the competition, and no one paid attention to Ronan anymore.

It was clear that no one took Orrion's words to the blue-haired youth, Claire, seriously when they had their dispute. Perhaps Orrion was just trying to annoy the constantly at odds youth wizard, Claire.

Ronan, ever the "tactful" person, stayed out of the way and quietly faded into the background until the meeting in Blue Mist Society had almost concluded. He then casually found an excuse to leave.

As for Orrion's attempt to pull him into the "Blue Mist Society," Ronan had a nonchalant attitude.

Orrion knew his potential and wasn't just focusing on the upcoming Helaams Genius Seat competition.

Over the past year, Ronan had grown much, and aside from understanding the gap between him and the true top geniuses of the South, he was also starting to think long-term about his future.

The Blue Mist Society was still in its early stages, but the identities of its members meant that this group could potentially wield significant power in the future.

Orrion's "determination" to recruit Ronan was likely part of his plans to build his own influence within the society.

Of course, all of this was none of Ronan's business. His biggest takeaway from meeting with Orrion was the way he could participate in the competition without needing to reach level three.

With that, Ronan felt fully at ease.

For the next period, he spent almost all of his time meditating in his space tent, preparing for the upcoming events.

He occasionally contacted Orrion.

The top wizard talents of the South were still steadily arriving, and on a sunny afternoon, Ronan met Rufus.

Rufus was being hotly pursued, like a blood-red hurricane rushing into the gathering area. Dozens of space tents and unfortunate wizards were flipped over as he passed by.

From a distance, Ronan could feel the violent and repressed emotions surrounding Rufus, as though anyone who crossed his path might be instantly assaulted. It was clear that Rufus had endured a tough couple of years.

The "Giant Stone Peak" inheritance wizard chasing Rufus looked like a stone-sculpted youth, riding a black stone giant that stood tens of meters tall, exuding a terrifying power. As he entered, wizards on his path parted like water waves, and the youth remained seated on the giant's shoulder as they walked to the innermost area of the gathering, without anyone stopping them.

After Rufus and the Giant Stone Peak youth arrived, no particularly outstanding figures appeared, and the large gathering area became quiet. The communication between wizards decreased, and everyone seemed to be waiting for something, creating a sense of calm before the storm.

Meanwhile, the energy clouds above the Fairy City ruins continued to thicken, and the ancient magical array below became more noticeable with its increasing vibrations.

At one point, a sudden loud sound echoed in the sky.

"Boom!"

Everyone immediately opened their eyes, lifting off into the air.

In the center of the gathering area, the ground suddenly caved in, and a fountain of colorful light erupted from deep beneath the earth.

Under the dazzling and overwhelming hues, everyone saw a grand, ancient, and fantastical city slowly rise up.

The true South Wizard talent gathering, the competition for the legendary Helaams' legacy, had officially begun.

Ronan quickly exited his tent, stored it away, and then flew forward.

At this moment, all the wizards in the gathering surged forward, and the previously clear divisions between the four layers of crowds disappeared.

Though it was noon, the sun was nowhere to be seen, as the entire world was flooded with colorful energy streams.

The mysterious, ancient Fairy City reappeared among the mountains and valleys.

"Legend says that Helaams once kept a large group of fairy creatures, and he even had a mate from an ancient fairy tribe. After his fall, his fairy mate died with him, and the ancient fairies who followed Helaams have been guarding his legacy until today."

Ronan heard a middle-aged second-level wizard murmuring excitedly nearby.

For many wizards, simply witnessing this legendary inheritance competition was enough to stir great excitement. After all, this event only occurred once every hundred years, and for most wizards, it was the closest they would ever get to the legendary stories written in wizard books, almost within reach.

Ronan gazed at the ethereal, dreamlike Fairy City, moving through the crowd.

He gradually entered an area filled only with third-level wizards, but everyone's attention was completely absorbed by the newly revealed Fairy City. No one noticed his intrusion. Occasionally, a third-level wizard would glance at him but quickly looked away.

The massive fountain of colorful light fell, and the full view of the mysterious Fairy City finally revealed itself to everyone.

It was a huge city resembling an ancient castle. Beneath the city's surface, some unusual streets and buildings could be seen, but higher up, the details were blurred.

The entire Fairy City looked like a massive mirage, seemingly existing before their eyes, but it felt like it belonged to another dimension, giving it an unreal and fantastical feeling.

"Ding ding ding—Ssshhh—"

Suddenly, a strange and pleasant sound echoed through the sky.

It sounded like a cowbell blown by the wind or like the playful laughter of a young girl.

Before anyone could react, countless rainbow-colored lights shot out from within the Fairy City.

The sight was breathtaking.

Countless beams of colored light soared into the sky, only to quickly fall back down like an enormous magical firework display.

The dreamlike, beautiful atmosphere reached its peak at that moment.

As the colorful beams fell, they began to converge on certain individuals.

Only those third-level wizards with mental power were chosen. The beams formed light spheres, each giving birth to a small, delicate, and cute fairy-like figure.

The selected third-level wizards were naturally led by these little fairies toward the city.

"It's starting!"

Ronan's eyes flashed with sharp light. As the rainbow-colored light transformed into fairy-like beings, leading the third-level wizards inside, he realized that the "tickets" for the competition had officially begun to be distributed.

The communication stone belonging to Orrion in Ronan's space ring had already started to flash with a reminder.

Ronan took a deep breath, his gaze scanning the nearby third-level wizards.

Before he could choose his target to "rob," he suddenly heard a series of explosive sounds from nearby.

He quickly turned his head and saw several battles erupt, all involving second and third-level wizards.

"Looks like I'm not the only one preparing to force my way in."

"Boom!"

Even deeper within the Fairy City, a more intense battle broke out. Ronan spotted a blazing red lotus staff spinning rapidly, and he frowned.

"Morille?"

"Why is she fighting again?"

Of course, now was not the time to focus on that.

Most of the third-level wizards who had been "invited" had already begun rapidly heading toward the city.

Ronan quickly locked onto a young, gray-white-haired wizard in a purple robe with golden trim.

"Titanium," as thick and black as ink, surged from beneath his robe, wrapping his entire body. After completely enveloping him, silver light flashed from Ronan's brow, and instantly, he turned into a deep, somber silver.

It looked like he was wearing an ancient silver armor, with shark-tooth-like small openings growing on it, quickly snapping open and shut.

A mix of ancient grandeur and terrifying intimidation emanated from him, giving off an eerie, mysterious aura.

"Swish—"

Ronan teleported right in front of his target.

The sudden obstruction startled the other wizard, who immediately halted in his tracks.

From a distance, loud laughter echoed, as a wizard familiar with the gray-haired wizard yelled mockingly, "Oscar, looks like this second-level kid has chosen you. He thinks you're the weakest here, and he plans to snatch the ticket from you!"

"Shut up!"

Oscar's face darkened as he glared at Ronan, his eyes full of malice, "Are you sure you want to take my ticket?"

Before Oscar could finish his words, Ronan, clad in the eerie silver armor, raised his hand. Instantly, countless silver-white metallic tendrils shot out from his arms and body.

Before Oscar could react, the tendrils tightly bound him.

"Poor tricks."

Oscar snorted coldly, his lips quickly moving as he chanted spells. A massive surge of energy particles gathered around him.

"Stagnation."

However, everything froze after Ronan calmly spoke just two words.

The metallic tendrils melted into a large silver disc, emitting a profound aura.

Oscar's lips, facial muscles, and even his heartbeats froze as if he was instantly encased in tons of cement, completely immobilized.

He flashed a surprised look in his eyes as a bright light surged within him, his magical domain expanding as if trying to break free from the stasis.

"[Shattered Silver], Break!"

Ronan's silver-clad form made a motion as if grasping something, and with a soft exhale, the massive silver disc shattered, unleashing a devastating, shattering force that tore apart Oscar's magical domain before it could fully form.

"Ahhh!!"

Oscar screamed in shock and fury as the shattered pieces of the silver disc flew back, swirling in the air, their black and silver light streaking across the void before converging into one point.

"Whoosh—"

The scream abruptly ceased.

Oscar, his robe torn and covered in blood, plummeted toward the ground, filled with unwillingness and anger.

The silver-clad figure took a step forward and appeared where Oscar had stood, gently holding a winged fairy figure in his hand.

At that moment, the surrounding area fell into eerie silence.

The third-level wizards, who had been silently watching, now wore expressions of shock and disbelief as they looked at Ronan, whose body was enveloped in titanium.

Too fast!

This battle ended so quickly.

In less than three breaths of time, almost a single exchange, the third-level wizard named Oscar had been heavily injured and lost his ticket.

If Ronan hadn't obviously held back, Oscar might have even died.

And this swift "kill" came from a second-level wizard?!

It was hard to believe, but the witnesses couldn't help but think: "Damn, I think I felt the profundity of spatial magic."

"Another monster."

The third-level wizards murmured in low voices, no longer daring to linger, their eyes flashing with wariness as they quickly left.

"Looks like it really works."

Ronan ignored the way the surrounding wizards seemed to avoid him like the plague. His attention was fully on the fairy he had forcefully snatched from another wizard.

After a brief struggle and unease, the fairy, who had been taken by force, seemed to accept its fate and began to calm down.

"Fiercegalon! You wait for me!!"

A distant voice filled with indignation and anger echoed.

Ronan looked over and saw a young, heroic-looking second-level wizard with long hair, holding a screaming fairy in his hand, coldly watching the third-level wizard who had just made a threat and then quickly fled.

It looked like the other wizard had done the same thing as Ronan.

Sensing Ronan's gaze, the young wizard, Fiercegalon, turned to look at him, and the two shared a distant stare.

Half a breath later, the young wizard withdrew his gaze and quickly left.

"We should go too..."

Ronan gently ran a finger over the fairy in his hand, which resembled the dust fairy, Aliette, that he kept with the Silver Circle. The small fairy looked a lot like the one he had just taken, with her wings and appearance similar to Aliette.

Ronan inhaled deeply, his crystal-blue eyes flashing with unprecedented brilliance, as he moved steadily toward the Fairy City.

All the third-level wizards invited by the city followed their fairy guides like moths to a flame, rushing into the Fairy City's embrace.

Ronan had originally felt a bit anxious, but after seeing Fiercegalon, who had also stolen someone else's ticket, smoothly enter the city, all his worries were gone.

As he neared the entrance of the Fairy City, Ronan noticed Morille, the Ashen Witch, wielding her red lotus staff.

Ronan wasn't sure what had gotten into her. She had a "ticket" but was attacking the city's shimmering barrier instead of entering, her face twisted in frustration.

"Troublemaker."

Ronan shook his head but didn't care. Following the fairy's guidance, he easily passed through the outer barrier and entered the legendary city.
