"Keep close to me..."
I muttered as I walked down the hallway, my eyes scanning the hallway. I blinked, pausing in my steps and turning around to see that Ezra was gone.
"... Oh you piece of shit..."
I muttered, sending out a force wave to scan for anything, and even the door was gone. How was that possible? I had no idea.
I turned back to the front, only to see the hallway gone, nothing but darkness in front of me.
I looked back again to see a similar sight.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts as I observed the emptiness around me. I was just in the temple, this didn't make any sense.
I continued walking forward, my steps slow and cautious, trusting the Force to warn me of anything that might come my way that posed any sort of threat.
My eyes scanned the darkness, trying to make out anything abnormal other than its presence.
It wasn't the absence of light, I knew that much. I could see my hands perfectly fine, I could see the emptiness in which I stepped, and it was disorienting as all hell.
I took a deep, shaky breath, trying to calm my racing heart down. I felt nothing coming through the force, but I had a bad feeling in my gut.
I kept walking, the force not responding, either to my guidance or any will as I walked, I just knew it was there, I could still feel it, pulsing calmly.
I stopped, sighing. My surroundings weren't changing, so why indulge in walking? I was already tired from the minimal amount of sleep I got, and mentally exhausted from always keeping a lookout for the animal that was following us throughout the trip.
I sat down, fidgeting slightly as I got comfortable on the ground, which was awkward since I couldn't exactly see the ground at the moment.
I closed my eyes, concentrating on the Force, trying to figure out what it was trying to tell me, I still needed to figure out where Ezra was, along with finding the way out of here and panicking wouldn't help me.
"Alexander?"
My eyes snapped open as soon as I heard the childish voice coming from right in front of me. I stared up at the brown-haired, green-eyed girl who was standing there, looking down at me with her hands behind her back
"Annabeth?"
-Ezra POV-
"Ezra, run!"
I heard my brothers shout. I only had a second to blink, looking at him in front of me. He was turning, his face contorted in a scowl.
The sound of a blaster going off reached my years and the world around me slowed down as he jerked, clutching his shoulder, following to the ground while all I could do was stare.
What?
I didn't have enough time to think before he was on his feet again, pushing me to turn around and forcing my feet to move forward.
My feet moved on their own, as I started running, fear overtaking me. I didn't pay attention, my feet moved on their own as he ran beside me, his arm limp.
The sound of blaster fire echoed through the hall as we ran, my ears ringing every step of the way. I didn't know what was going on, who was shooting at us? Why were they shooting at us?
The thoughts ran through my head as I was suddenly pushed to the side, turned the corner, and pressed against the wall.
I looked at Colt, he was breathing heavily, visibly in pain as he moved to beside me, next to the turn as he waited.
I felt the blood pumping in my ears, my eyes looked him over, and my heart dropped into my stomach.
A large hole in his shoulder was burned through by the blaster bolt that hit him. I felt bile rising up in my throat as I pressed a hand against my mouth to prevent myself from throwing up.
It was a gruesome sight, the smell was no better, the sickening aroma of burnt flesh entering my nostrils from every breath I took.
The hole itself was more of an oval, probably because his whole joint was non-existent anymore.
The sound of rapid footsteps registered in my ears from the direction we were coming from. Colt was already moving, snapping into action as he reached out, grabbing the barrel of the blaster that peeked around the corner. He then moved his body to pull down on the blaster, flipping our attacker over his shoulder.
The man, Storm-trooper, let go of the blaster with a startled yell, his back hitting the ground as Colt straightened the blaster in his hand, pulling the trigger.
The man slumped against the ground, his chest steaming from the bolt that hit him.
My mind froze.
He just killed him...
"Ezra! Go-"
The sound of another blaster going off echoed across the walls. Another body hit the ground and I could only stare.
The sound of Colt's body hitting the floor echoed through my years. I watched. My mouth opened, but no sound came out.
I took a step back. Then another, and another, before I turned and ran.
I ran and didn't look back.
I was too scared to look back.
