When Wade got home, Julian couldn't hold back his laughter. It was a rare sight to see his brother in bad shape.
With how bored he was, he thought nothing could make him laugh. After all, he was currently 'under house arrest'.
Wade ignored his brother and went to freshen up. He was sure Rylan wouldn't want to see him for the next ten years.
Just great.
How was he supposed to prove he was an omega now?
He threw himself onto his bed. These days, he was under a lot of stress and it made him wonder if he had wrinkles.
He breathed in and out, trying to clear his head. Tyler was also getting impatient. Any longer and he would kill Rylan without proof.
Suddenly, his phone rang. He picked up the phone without checking who it was.
"Wade, I need your help."
Huh?
Wade pulled the phone back and sure enough, it was Rylan. Here he thought it would take ten years but barely an hour later...
"Really?" Wade smiled. He could picture Rylan rolling his eyes.
"Will you help me or not?"
"Of course I will, anything for you love."
Rylan sighed, "Why did I even think of you?"
"But seriously, I'll help. What do you need?"
"My friends turned," Rylan spoke with pressed lips.
"Really? What are they?"
"One's an alpha and the other an omega. They don't know how to control themselves though and their pheromones are all over the place. I don't know what to do."
Wade paused, he never thought he would hear such a tone from Rylan before.
"First, don't get close to the alpha," Wade spoke.
"I'm not stupid. Just tell me what is usually done in these situations."
"Um, actually, we've never had these situations."
"What? But how?"
"Normally, when humans turn, they die. It's pretty hard to find a turned human since they are usually clueless and end up killed by the werewolves."
When Rylan heard this, he felt his heart stop. "Is there a way for them to survive?"
"If they can control their pheromones they could but I don't know how they can learn that. You know we were born this way so it came naturally but them... "
"Okay, thanks. I'll hang up now."
"Wait, what are you going to do?"
"Teach them."
"But one is an alpha."
"I know."
Wade sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, "How about this, I try to help the alpha and you handle the omega."
"Really? Thanks." Even though both could affect him, Rylan thought it was cool to handle one instead of two.
He hang up and called Elliot.
The latter said that Jaden was in his house which was quite suspicious. But it was none of his business and nothing seemed to have happened.
.....
Elliot was biting his nails as he contemplated leaving or not. Rylan had told him not to leave but he was getting impatient. Just as he almost gave up, the door was opened and a handsome man with a smile came in.
"Well hello there," the man spoke after locking the door, "You must be Elliot. I'm Wade, alpha."
Elliot's eyes widened a bit. Somewhere in his mind, he had hoped this was all a joke yet a man came in and claimed he was an alpha.
"Nice to meet you," Elliot forced a smile of his own.
"Can't say the same I'm afraid," Wade burst his bubble, "You're the one who almost broke my eardrums."
Elliot remembered the time he had shouted when he called Rylan but someone else picked up instead. He had hoped he would never meet that stranger yet fate was not on his side.
"I'm sorry about that, I thought it was Rylan," But the man's eyes only darkened.
"That only makes me angrier," Wade sighed and decided to drop the matter, "Anyway, I'm not here for that today."
"You... Are you the one teaching me how to be an alpha?"
"I don't know about teaching you how to be an alpha. Rylan told me about pheromones only."
"Ooh," Elliot was disappointed, "But you can tell me a thing or two about alphas right?"
"Alphas... " Wade looked at the window behind Elliot. He knew quite a few alphas in his life, his father, his mother, his best friend. All of them were different yet at the same time quite similar.
All three of them believed omegas were just nothing. Tyler mistreated his own omega son, Lyanna only married his father to escape marrying an omega she had feelings for, and Rael. He tried to hide it but his eyes were as clear as ever, that he hated omegas.
"Sir?" Elliot waved his hand in front of Wade, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"As an alpha, I'll tell you one main thing that you should know Elliot," Wade's expression was serious, "Omegas are very precious Elliot and you should never hate them. They exist to be treated in the best way possible, okay?"
"Alright," That wasn't hard for Elliot.
"Good," Wade smiled, "Now lets find a way to control those pheromones, my nose is crying."
While Wade tried to figure out a way to teach Elliot, Rylan went to Jaden.
He knocked the door for a while but no one opened. In the end he opened it himself.
Jaden was staring at the tv but it was off. He had the remote in his hand but it was just there. It was like someone had pressed pause on him.
Rylan walked closer, Jaden didn't release a lot of pheromones. "Jaden?" He whispered.
Jaden didn't move. Rylan had to go and hold his shoulder. Only then did the omega snap back to reality.
"Rylan," Jaden called out his name, as if processing the fact that his best friend was in front of him. "Why are you here?"
Rylan sat opposite him, suddenly pitying his friend. Jaden was a mess! His hair was worse than a bird's nest and he was swollen everywhere!
"What happened to you?" Rylan asked, worried.
"Rylan... " His voice broke and for the first time in the life he could remember, tears flowed down his cheeks.
