Chapter 279: The Enchanted Soil
As everyone surged through the light barrier, an intense, indescribable atmosphere of danger rushed over them, causing many to feel their energy surge uncontrollably, forcing them to stop briefly. Once they steadied themselves, their gazes swept across the scene in the core region, many of them momentarily stunned by what they saw.
The sky beyond the barrier was not blue but a dark, ominous red. When they looked up, their eyes reflected this eerie red glow, which gave the entire scene an unsettling quality. Beneath the sky, an endless stretch of primeval forest filled the landscape, towering trees over a hundred meters tall standing shoulder to shoulder, with no end in sight. From the forest depths came the occasional beastly roar, each one filled with ruthless hostility. This was a dangerous land.
The vast crowd from Wanxiang City shattered the tranquility of this place as they poured in. The sky was crowded with floating figures, each one gazing at the land below with both excitement and awe. This would be their final battleground.
Lin Langtian and his team entered through the barrier as well, studying the surroundings with a look of surprise in their eyes.
"No doubt about it, the core region of the Ancient Battlefield is completely different…" Lin Dong said quietly as he scanned the area around them.
"Heh, who cares what kind of place it is?" Xiao Yan said with a hearty laugh, resting his massive black staff on his shoulder. His hulking figure cast a shadow that nearly covered half of Lin Dong, giving off an overwhelming sense of power.
Hearing this, Jinwu muttered with a bit of irritation, and Xiao Yan, clearly amused, leaned over to teasingly call him "little brother" a few times, making Jinwu roll his eyes in annoyance.
Lin Langtian shook his head with a smile and said in a low voice, "There are too many eyes around us right now. Let's keep moving toward the central Hundred Dynasties Mountain. As for Nirvana Seals, we've gathered plenty from the Fengyun and Zhao dynasties, so let's absorb them here and not waste time hunting down other dynasties just yet."
With that, Lin Langtian produced a faintly purple-gold Nirvana Seal, one he had taken from Zhao Wuji as a battle trophy. Extending his right hand, he lightly touched his own Nirvana Seal with the new one, causing the purple-gold hue to deepen as Zhao Wuji's seal faded. Lin Langtian's Nirvana Seal had clearly been upgraded.
Seeing this, Lin Dong and the others nodded, quickly taking out their trophies to upgrade their seals. In a matter of moments, every member of the Flame Alliance had enhanced their Nirvana Seals.
The surrounding participants watched with envious eyes; the Flame Alliance's haul from their defeated foes had given them a considerable head start without much effort.
"Let's move out," Lin Langtian said, turning toward another direction. Lin Dong and the others followed close behind, disappearing into the wild forest under the watchful, complicated stares of the onlookers. It seemed that with the Flame Alliance's entrance into the region, the curtain on the Hundred Dynasties War had finally risen.
Deep in the Core Region
Giant trees towered overhead, casting shadows that scattered with dots of dark red light, giving the immense forest an atmosphere thick with tension. In this land, even the sunlight felt tainted with a chill of hidden malice, a lingering memory of countless fallen warriors.
On a clearing deep within the forest, nearly a hundred figures sat in stillness. As we moved closer, these faces became familiar—they were the Flame Alliance, who had been journeying for half a day.
After word of the Zhao Dynasty's fall had spread, the Flame Alliance had become one of the most feared factions in the Ancient Battlefield, allowing Lin Langtian's group to travel with few obstacles, except for the occasional foolishly brave soul.
Under a giant tree, Lin Langtian sat cross-legged, seemingly at rest, but his focus was in his dantian, where he peered into the Mirror World.
Deep within the Mirror World lay an endless ocean of dark energy, though this wasn't Lin Langtian's focus. Instead, his attention fell on a plot of yellowed trees in a barren area. Their branches formed natural symbols that hinted at mysterious powers, seemingly able to tap into forces beyond this world.
"These Heavenly Rune Trees have grown this much already?" Lin Langtian murmured, his eyebrows rising with satisfaction.
This dry, golden plot was none other than a grove of Heavenly Rune Trees he had planted from seeds. It had been almost a year since they'd entered the Ancient Battlefield, and perhaps due to the unique properties of the Mirror World, the soil here was rich and dark, brimming with energy. This had accelerated the trees' growth so that they were nearly mature within the year, which delighted Lin Langtian immensely.
Suppressing his excitement, Lin Langtian then turned his gaze to an even larger stretch of land, where a hundred small green sprouts had broken through the black earth. A faint energy radiated from these seedlings, giving off a unique wave of vitality. These seedlings were the result of planting the Green Wood Yuan seeds he had acquired at the Wanxiang City auction.
Incredibly, in just a few days, the seeds had sprouted. At this rate, they would likely mature in no time.
"Not only is the Mirror World incredible, but the soil here also has extraordinary properties…" Lin Langtian muttered as he observed the miraculous soil.
In the outside world, both Heavenly Rune Trees and Green Wood Yuan Trees would take decades to mature, but here, the time had been shortened by tenfold. If the Tianxuan Continent had a title for "Master of Spiritual Plants," Lin Langtian would undoubtedly be its greatest master.
As he mused over this miraculous soil, a powerful wave of dark energy suddenly rose from nearby, steadily increasing. It seemed that someone was on the verge of a breakthrough.
"Oh? It's Mo Ying. He's advancing to the Fourth Yuan Nirvana Stage already?" Lin Langtian murmured, recognizing the energy surge and nodding in approval.
