Chapter 293 - Chapter 31: The Berserker You Ordered Has Arrived

Generally speaking, official Devil hunters do not go to other countries.

After all, every year, the number of people who die from Devil-related disasters accounts for a significant portion of the total accidental deaths worldwide. Each country spends vast amounts of money recruiting enough Devil hunters, so how could they possibly send their own Devil hunters abroad?

However, sometimes some weaker countries encounter Devils that exceed their capabilities.

In these cases, these countries have only two choices: either spend huge amounts of money hiring powerful civilian Devil hunters or seek military aid from their allies and neighboring countries.

Makima's arrangement for the Yamai sisters was the latter.

As officially dispatched Devil hunters from Japan, they were sent to other countries for Devil hunting operations.

For the Yamai sisters, this was also a great opportunity.

Their main mission was to become berserkers in the eyes of both humans and Devils.

So far, they had only operated in Japan. But even if everyone in Japan recognized them as "berserkers," that didn't represent humanity as a whole.

Thus, they needed to appear in front of the world, or at least in front of most countries, at least once.

They hadn't done this before because once they entered any human country, they would be hunted by civilian and official Devil hunters. If they showed any hostility towards any human country, the whole world would view them as enemies of humanity.

But now, things were different.

With the official title of Japan's Devil hunters and the fact that they were sent out as international aid, no matter where they went, they would be warmly welcomed.

Now was the perfect time to advance their main mission.

Three days later, Vietnam.

The Prime Minister of Vietnam paced back and forth in his presidential office, glancing anxiously at his wristwatch.

When he heard that Japan was willing to send international aid, he was the first to send a request.

As a small Asian country, Vietnam's economy and national strength were far inferior to powerful nations like the Soviet Union or the United States, and even Japan, which had a similar landmass, outpaced it.

Because of this, the quality of their Devil hunters wasn't very high. When they encountered stronger Devils, they not only had to mobilize civilian Devil hunters but also needed to call upon the military, using human lives to eliminate the rogue Devils.

However, the "human wave" tactic didn't always work.

If the Devil's power was too strong and its quality far exceeded their numbers, the tactic would be completely ineffective.

And recently, Vietnam had encountered an unusually powerful Devil.

"Prime Minister, the aid from Japan has arrived."

Not long after, the secretary hurried into the Prime Minister's office, his tone filled with barely concealed joy.

"Wonderful, immediately take them to the reception room. I want to meet them personally."

The Prime Minister's face lit up with happiness as he hurriedly left.

In this world where Devils existed, although official Devil hunters were part of the Public Security Bureau, essentially the police, civilian Devil hunters were more like bounty hunters. But both types held far higher status than regular police officers or bounty hunters.

Especially the strongest Devil hunters, who were treated like royalty by governments around the world. They couldn't dare to give orders from a high position to them.

To hire them for a task, you either had to meet their wishes or beg them humbly.

Even the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the leader of a country, had completely lowered his usual authority when dealing with these powerful Devil hunters.

"Prime Minister, they didn't come to the capital."

Hearing the Prime Minister's words, the secretary awkwardly coughed a few times. "They said they were on a tight schedule. After solving the Devil in Vietnam, they need to head to Laos and won't have time to meet with you."

Clearly, the secretary's words had been somewhat modified.

The two Devil hunters from Japan had most likely been far less polite in what they had actually said.

The Prime Minister's face stiffened, and he was somewhat angry.

After all, he was the leader of a country.

Even though they were invited by him, he had still paid a price.

They had come to his country but didn't even give him any respect. This made the Prime Minister feel a bit displeased.

But he didn't say anything, only asking, "Are they already out hunting Devils?"

"Yes."

"Is there anything we can do to help?"

"They said the only thing they need is for us not to hold them back and to evacuate the civilians around the Devil."

"Hmph."

The Prime Minister let out an unhappy snort.

As one of the countries first affected by the appearance of the Yamai sisters, he had some understanding of the Wind Devils' power.

However, the Devil that appeared in Vietnam was also extremely strange. They had already lost many elite personnel.

If the Yamai sisters could solve the problem, that would be the best.

But if they couldn't, and instead angered the Devil further, the consequences would be disastrous.

"I hope they know what they're saying."

The Prime Minister turned on the TV and tuned into a channel showing a massive Devil, one that looked like a mountain.

"I paid for this, and if you can't solve it, I'll be asking Japan for an explanation."

Meanwhile, in a city in Vietnam.

Yuzuru Yamai and Kaguya Yamai stood on the rooftop of a tall building, gazing at the huge Devil in the distance.

This was the largest Devil they had encountered since coming to this world.

The Devil didn't appear to be made of flesh and blood. Its outer shell showed visible bricks, cement, and steel, like a fortress.

Though massive and cumbersome, it had dozens of crab-like mechanical legs beneath it, allowing it to move slowly.

At a glance, it looked like a heavily armed version of Howl's Moving Castle.

This city, with a population of at least a million, had already been destroyed by one-third due to the Devil's rampage. Countless buildings had been destroyed, and many people had perished at its hands.

"As expected, it's a Devil that Vietnam couldn't solve even with the whole country's effort. As our opponent, it's qualified." Kaguya Yamai laughed confidently, "If it were too weak, defeating it with one strike wouldn't show off our berserker attributes."

"Indeed, such a giant monster, there aren't many people who can deal with it." Yuzuru Yamai replied lightly, "I've already checked. The people in this city have been evacuated, so we can go all out."

"What if we cause too much damage? Will the Prime Minister of Vietnam have a problem with us?"

"Who cares? If he has a problem, let him take it up with the Japanese government. It has nothing to do with us."

"Haha, true."

The next moment, the Raphael's El Re'em and El Na'ash appeared in their hands.

"Then let's cause some chaos!"
