After Morpheus sent the message, it didn't take long for the countries to receive news of the blackmail. While Morpheus was waiting for a response, the countries had already dispatched agents to locate him and arrest him.
While Javier and the others waited in the room, they also heard the sound of a helicopter. However, they didn't think it was a rescue, as it would have been impossible for help to arrive so quickly during a biological crisis.
The person who had arrived was either from Umbrella or the one responsible for the incident. Javier wanted to go out and take a look, so he asked Crow to protect Natasha inside the room.
After leaving the room, Javier took out a combat knife to avoid alerting the visitor. All the zombies in the hallway were easily decapitated by him.
Upon arriving on the deck, Javier witnessed a startling scene. Morpheus was holding a pistol and pointing it at someone's head. The person could only raise their hands obediently.
"Morpheus," the man guessed, glancing back. "Why are the weapons used by you American agents so ugly?" Morpheus joked.
After speaking, he struck his opponent with the gun. The agent fell to the ground, then got back up and looked at Morpheus. "Don't try to do anything with the virus."
"Do you know what those high-ranking people are afraid of?" Morpheus said, looking at his visitor. "They're all afraid of death."
At that moment, a grenade landed in front of Morpheus and the agent. "Damn!" the agent shouted, noticing the grenade first and quickly fleeing with that in mind.
Morpheus was a second too late, and the grenade exploded near him, seriously injuring him. He covered the bleeding wound and quickly left the deck.
Javier looked into the distance, where a girl wearing tight pants and short sleeves stood. She was the one who had thrown the grenade.
Seeing this, Javier turned and returned to the guest room.
"What happened outside? I heard an explosion," Natasha asked worriedly when she saw Javier returning.
"They must be agents sent by the government. This time, they found the culprit. I saw this guy in the intel—he's a senior executive at Umbrella. His name is Morpheus," Javier explained.
Natasha had also seen his face in the files but hadn't expected him to betray Umbrella. It seemed there were internal problems within the organization.
"Now this ship is full of zombies and biological weapons. We can't just sit around waiting for rescue. I took a look—this cruise is still sailing. Let's head to the control room and see if we can stop it," Javier suggested.
After discussing the matter, the three of them left the guest room. The control room was on the third floor. They made their way down the hall and took the elevator up.
Upon exiting, they encountered many zombies—former officials and guards. After quickly eliminating them, they reached the control room.
Javier approached the steering wheel, tried to turn it, and found it was locked. He forced it and—click.
Upon hearing the sound, Natasha and Crow looked at Javier. He awkwardly held the broken steering wheel. "I think we might need to swim back."
At that moment, the control room door opened and the agent along with the girl ran in. They were surprised to see Javier and the others—they hadn't expected any survivors.
"Who are you?" the girl asked, looking at the three armed people.
"We're guests. We were attending an event organized by Umbrella when this all happened. My name is Natasha, from the Azure Dragon Company. I'm the president, and these are my bodyguards," Natasha introduced herself.
"Hello, Miss Natasha. I know you—you're very famous. I'm Bruce McGivern, a special forces agent. You can call me Bruce," he said casually.
Everyone turned to the girl. "She's an agent from the Chinese Department of Defense. Her name is Fong Ling," Bruce added.
Fong Ling looked at Bruce and snorted, clearly unimpressed.
"I don't think we have time for introductions. Look ahead," she said, pointing to the window. Everyone turned to see a small island directly ahead. If the cruise ship didn't stop, it would crash into it.
Bruce quickly rushed to the steering wheel—but it was missing. "I think you're looking for this," Javier said with a grin, holding up the broken wheel.
"Oh, damn. What should we do?" Bruce asked in frustration.
"It seems we'll have to jump into the sea, swim to the island, and wait for rescue," he said.
The cruise ship was moving fast. Judging by the distance, it would definitely reach the island within half an hour.
"There must be lifeboats on board. Let's search for them," Bruce suggested.
Everyone nodded and left the control room. Once outside, they began searching both sides of the ship for lifeboats.
"I'm not letting any of you get off this ship alive," Morpheus said, watching them from the control room monitor.
While the others searched for lifeboats, the storage tanks of biological weapons were released, and the sealed doors were opened. Morpheus had unleashed all the bio-weapons in an attempt to kill everyone.
As the weapons were released, the cruise ship's alarm system activated.
"Must be Morpheus, that bastard," Bruce said angrily.
"Looks like we've got an uphill battle," Javier added, gripping his Magnum tightly.
Soon, a door on the deck was ripped open by sharp claws. Five hunters appeared before them. Everyone immediately began shooting.
The hunters evaded the attacks quickly. They were clearly more intelligent than the zombies and monsters Javier had encountered before.
Their jumping ability was incredible. After dodging the gunfire, they leapt toward the group, claws ready to tear them apart.
Javier's gun was powerful—he killed one of the hunters with five well-placed shots. Fong Ling was scratched on the arm by another and fell to the ground, unable to fight back.
Just when she thought it was over, Javier rushed in and pulled her aside, dodging the hunter's deadly blow.
