They slowly moved one by one into the floor and were led to a large room with a very enormous wooden table in the middle. They were then uncuffed and ordered to take a seat. They sat in the order they came in. The chairs were comfortable and it felt great to finally rest.
All they could think of was food and to their relief,a line of tall, beautiful ladies walked in. This was the first time Devon had seen ladies around here. She keenly observed them as they walked in with large metal trays carrying large cups that resembled tumblers. They expertly placed a cup before everyone of them before filling out as they came.
She was particularly amazed by how organized everything was. No one was ever out of line. But there was something with their eyes. She didn't quite understand it,yet.
"Everyone to drink up. Every single drop." The man nearest to the door announced. They each eyed the cup set before them. They were initially excited to be fed but what stared back at them looked nothing like food. It didn't even seem consumable.
It was dark, the color of dirt, and not the pretty kind. What really irked everyone out was the stench it had. It smelt like unbearable death. All the other men filled out, leaving only the one who spoke earlier. He was a medium sized man with dark eyes and hair. His presence was very disturbing but only she felt it. Everyone just felt threatened nothing more.
She other hand felt powerless. She could basically be dead with a snap of his finger. She didn't understand why she felt this way until he showed what he was truly capable of. A short blonde boy sitting opposite the boy next to Annah took a sip of the mystery drink and immediately spat it out. He angrily stood up and began shouting. This not going to end well .
"What kinda drink is this!"
"Sit your ass down boy, and drink." The man commanded loudly. He slowly walked towards him.
"Or what?" He threatened jokingly. But he was the only one laughing. The man responded by brandishing a sharp knife. The boy instinctively moved back, but the man was too fast. He held his hair painfully, pulling his head back and slicing open his neck.
Greg was utterly terrified. The blood splashed everywhere. The saw the headless body fall, first hitting the table before reaching the other ground. Screams of horror filled the place. A few were too stunned to even move. Others were stupified to the point of having a full on mental breakdown. He turned to look at his new family. Maddie was screaming her lungs out, Annah was weeping sorrowfully and on looking at Devon. He felt the same fear wash over him, like when she spoke to him earlier.
She was calm,no emotion at all. She just watched as everyone panicked and chaos laughed at them. She just staring blankly at the man as if in a trance. The blood had splattered all over her face but she not even bothered. He turned to look at the man, who stood there exuding a menacing aura of death. When his eyes locked with her's,he saw slight curve of her lips. A small smirk.
She looked the guy dead in the eye. She had seen this coming and chose not to do anything about it. She weirdly felt more relaxed. She knew what her captures were capable of. The charade about seeming to care about them had bored her out. In her perspective it was better to see the predator face to face than letting them keep hiding in the bushes.
The man wasn't expecting the girl to be able to hold eye contact for this long. To be able to look a guy like him was astonishing but being able to hold eye contact for this long was a feat so great not many could claim. But here was a sixteen year old female doing it. He tried looking more intimidating but she only smirked wider. She tilted her head questioningly before looking deeper into his eyes not willing to back down. He looked deep in those blue eyes and saw danger in them. Look away. A voice inside his head screamed and he obeyed.
"Quiet!" His voice boomed again. Everyone froze and silence rained supreme. He roughly placed the decapitated head at the center of the table. Right in front of Devon. She tried looking him in the eye but he avoided eye contact.
"Drink or you'll join our buddy here. Every last drop." They swallowed hard.
She was fascinated by him. How sharp the knife had to be and how strong he was to so easily decapitate a head simply seemed intriguing to her. To be able to break the neck bones that easily gave her an estimation of how powerful he actually was. She would sourly loss in a direct confrontation.
They all obeyed and one by one, the started to drink. She watched as their expression changed and faces contorted in distaste. This thing must be really awful. She thought before clamping her nose together and taking a large gulp.
It was utterly and horrifically disgusting. It was something she had never tasted before and she was grateful for that. This was basically torture in the form of a liquid. Worse yet, they had to finish it all. Though her nose was clamped she could still smell how awful it was. She just kept gulping not giving it much thought. The more I delay the worse it will get. It wasn't entirely smooth. There were a few bumps here and there, almost making her throw up.
She held the edge of her shirt so hard that her knuckles turned white. She finally put it down when she couldn't handle another go. It had a very distinct after taste. Most of it was bitterness with hints of something foul but once you got those disturbing tastes out of the way, you were left with a very strong metallic taste. Whatever that thing was made of, wherever this taste was coming from, that was the main ingredient for this toxic poison.
