Chapter 424 - Chapter 424: The Monster's Wedding

Lu Fei led everyone to the incense shop, took some things, and then returned to Sun Wei's house to prepare.

"Ah! We couldn't get rid of it! What do we do now?"

"Mom, I don't want to marry a monster..."

Upon learning that they couldn't refuse the ghost marriage, Mother and Daughter Sun broke into tears once again.

"Crying, crying, all you know is crying! These few brothers are trying to help us, aren't they?" Although Sun Wei was also anxious, he couldn't show it, or the mother and daughter would feel even more lost.

He comforted his wife and daughter, then pulled Lu Fei and a few others aside.

"Brothers, what should we do tonight? Please tell me the truth, can this really be solved?"

"Brother Sun, I swear on my life, I will not let the monster take away your little sister!" Zhang Molin vowed earnestly.

Even if ErDan had not been involved in this matter, he would still not have stood idly by if he encountered it alone.

"Don't worry, Brother Sun! Go to Jiangcheng and ask around about what our Sinisterium Pawnshop does. When it comes to collecting evil objects and exorcising evil spirits, our boss has never failed!" Hu Zi held up a thumbs-up sign.

"Sinisterium Pawnshop?" Sun Wei hadn't heard of it, but seeing their strong assurances, he felt a bit more at ease.

"Brother, tonight we should..." Lu Fei was just about to speak.

  "Ah——"

At this moment, a terrified scream suddenly came from the little girl's room.

Everyone's faces changed, and they hurriedly rushed over.

  "What's wrong? What happened?"

  "Husband, look!"

The wheat mother held her frightened daughter and pointed to the bed with her hand.

Everyone followed the direction of her trembling finger.

On the bed, a set of bright red bridal clothes was neatly folded.

This shade of red did not bring joy; instead, it seemed like a death warrant.

"It wasn't there just a moment ago, and then the clothes appeared in the blink of an eye!" The wheat mother's voice trembled with sobs.

"Dare to come in broad daylight? This evil spirit is indeed rampant!" Zhang Molin gritted his teeth as he stepped forward to check, but found no traces left by the evil spirit, "How strange, we were all in the living room, so close, and yet we didn't notice anything..."

"What should we do, dear? Should we run?" Wheat's mother was in a panic.

"We can't run. The little girl's fate is already locked by the Lock of Unity." Lu Fei shook his head.

"Then what about us..." Sun Weigang was about to ask.

But Lu Fei raised his hand, making a gesture for silence, as if he was afraid of something eavesdropping.

Then he motioned for Zhang Molin to join him in checking the entire house, not even sparing the wardrobe and corners by the walls.

After confirming that the house was clean, he took out ghost-repelling talismans and placed them on the doors, windows, and the four corners of the walls.

Finally, he scattered a circle of incense ash around the perimeter to ensure there would be no mistakes.

"Sister-in-law, little sister, from now on you cannot leave this room!" he finally spoke, but his voice was very low.

"Lu Fei, did you find something?" Zhang Molin asked in a low voice.

Lu Fei pointed out the window: "There might be evil spirits eavesdropping."

"Right outside?!" Zhang Mulin was shocked, drawing his money sword and about to go out to search, but was stopped by Lu Fei: "No need to go, you won't find anything, let's prepare first."

He then took out the items he had retrieved from the incense and candle shop, asking the Sun family to assist in the preparations.

  Night fell.

  Darkness enveloped the three-story house.

Despite the presence of Lu Fei and the others, the Sun family of three were still trembling with fear.

Thinking that the monster would appear tonight, the mother and daughter couldn't help but hold each other tightly, keeping far away from the set of bright red bridal clothes.

  Drip-drip—drip-drip—

Suddenly, the sound of gongs and drums began to ring out outside.

The sound, getting closer and closer, pierced through the silent village, coming to the Sun family's courtyard.

Sun Xiaomai suddenly trembled, her eyes becoming vacant. She broke free from her mother's embrace, put on the bridal gown, and sat in front of the mirror to dress up.

  "Manager Lu?"

Sun Wei and his wife looked at Lu Fei fearfully.

"Don't panic, just do as I said before." Lu Fei nodded to them calmly.

  Immediately after.

"The auspicious hour has arrived—please have the bride enter the sedan chair—

Outside, an old, hoarse voice rang out; it was the voice of Madam Feng Er.

In ancient times, marriages relied on the words of matchmakers, so a matchmaker always accompanied the wedding party.

The monster knew that marrying a living person was against the heavenly way, so it needed to follow all the proper procedures to deceive heaven.

"The auspicious hour has arrived—please have the bride enter the sedan chair—

Accompanied by the joyous sounds of gongs and drums, Aunt Feng's voice kept urging on.

The door of the Sun family finally opened.

A bride dressed in a bright red wedding gown, with a red veil over her head, walked out shyly.

In the courtyard, a red sedan chair was parked.

Aside from Aunt Feng, there were also a few people beating gongs and drums.

Each one was short and dwarfish, with long, sharp faces, and their cheeks were smeared with exaggerated red rouge.

"Bride, you're finally out! Don't delay the auspicious time, get in the sedan chair quickly!"

Aunt Feng wore a red flower in her hair. She felt that something seemed off about the bride, but squinting for a closer look, she saw the Yin-Yang Unity Lock properly hanging around the bride's neck, and thought no more of it.

The auspicious time was approaching, and delaying the wedding would incur the blame of the celestial beings.

She hurried forward to help the bride into the sedan chair.

  "Lift the sedan, let's go——"

Sixteen sharp-faced dwarfs lifted the sedan and swayed as they left the Sun family.

"Oh, this bride is really heavy!"

"After all, she's a human, not like us..."

Accompanied by the sound of gongs and drums, the red sedan gradually moved away.

  At this moment.

The door of the Sun family opened again.

Two people and a dog quietly followed behind.

The red sedan left the village, took a remote path, passed through a gloomy forest, and entered a dark and desolate village.

In the blink of an eye, it disappeared into the night.

"Where did it go?" Zhang Molin was startled, "Could we have been discovered?"

  "It shouldn't be!"

Lu Fei signaled him to stay calm.

The little black dog sniffed the ground and then ran straight towards the abandoned village.

The two of them quickly followed.

After just a few steps, the scene in front of them suddenly changed.

In the abandoned village, there was now a grand and luxurious mansion, with two large red lanterns hanging at the entrance.

The red light spilled all over the ground, giving an especially eerie feeling.

This is the real haunted house!

  "We're here!"

The two immediately understood that they had arrived at the monsters' territory.

However, there were two short servants guarding the entrance of the house.

Lu Fei picked up two clumps of mud from the ground and smeared them on Zhang Molin's face and his own, concealing their living aura, not even sparing the small black dog.

"Even so, they might not let us in," Zhang Molin worried.

  "Don't worry, watch me."

Lu Fei chuckled and confidently led Zhang Molin toward the village entrance.

  "Halt! Where are you from?"

The two gate-keeping servants immediately blocked the door and interrogated them with a menacing look.

"Honorable sirs, we are here to give a gift to the bridegroom, just a small token of our respect!"

Lu Fei bent down, pulled out a flask of fragrant oil, and handed it over with a smile.
