Chapter 508 - Chapter 508: A Mother's Heart Connected to Her Child

"Eldest Sister, your task is to watch over the red thread!"

Jing Jian pushed Guo Yu out of the kindergarten and stuffed a few exorcism charms into her hands.

"Now, the red thread is the only hope to find the child. If it breaks, I'm afraid the child will never come back."

  "I, I..."

Guo Yu's hands trembled uncontrollably as she struggled to control her emotions.

  "Hold on!"

Jing Jian turned around, brandished his sword to fend off the little ghosts that pounced, and ran towards Lu Fei.

The yin energy was thick at that moment, and even an ordinary person like Guo Yu could see those ghastly pale faces. If not for the sake of the child, she would have fainted from fear on the spot.

"The red thread must not be broken, the red thread must not be broken!"

She lowered her head, holding her wrist tied with the red thread, continuously boosting her own morale.

Fortunately, the little ghosts just stared at her for a few moments before chasing after Jing Jian.

Jing Jian followed Lu Fei all the way to the classroom door.

The pair of red-clad dolls, holding the little boy's hand, frowned as they looked at them.

  "Give the child back!"

Jing Jian swung his sword, shouting in anger.

"Kids like you really need to be disciplined! You didn't learn well when you were alive, and even after death, you haven't repented!"

In the skewed button eyes of the red-clad dolls, a look of resentment appeared; they still wanted to disappear with the little boy.

Lu Fei grabbed the red thread, carefully and quickly pulling it back.

The red line instantly went taut.

Although the dolls had taken the little boy away, in the next second, they reappeared at the original spot.

The cloth-made little faces immediately showed an expression of shock.

"Hehe, you can't escape now!" Jing Jian's spirit greatly lifted, "Return the child, repent, and you can still be given a decent end! Otherwise, don't blame us for being merciless!"

The expression on the cloth dolls turned grim, and they held the little boy even tighter, with no intention of letting go.

  "Stubborn to the end!"

Lu Fei and Jing Jian both attacked simultaneously.

But the pale little ghosts all rushed over, gnawing at the red line.

  "Not good!"

Jing Jian, sensing the danger, hastily swung his sword to drive away the little ghosts and protect the red line.

While Lu Fei wielded the lightning-struck wood to attack the ghost doll.

Though constrained by the red thread, the ghost doll couldn't escape too far with the little boy, but it had no trouble dodging Lu Fei's attacks.

A sinister smile appeared on their faces.

The deformed fingers gripped the red thread, attempting to break it.

  "Mom..."

At that moment, the little boy suddenly called out in a muffled voice.

Mother and child are connected by heart.

There was Guo Yu's blood on the red thread, and if the thread was cut, her child would sense it.

Hearing the word 'mom,' the ghost doll's fingers paused, and a look of deep surprise appeared on its small face.

They looked at the little boy, then followed the red thread to Guo Yu outside the gate.

"Tongtong! My child...please, don't hurt my child, give him back to me, give him back to me..."

The mother's pained and pleading voice came from afar.

The ghost doll stared at her blankly, with a complex look in its button-like eyes.

  "This is my chance!"

Lu Fei seized the opportunity, grabbing the little boy and pulling him back into his arms.

  This time.

The ghost doll did not entangle, watching as Lu Fei carried the little boy back to the entrance and returned him to his mother, a hint of envy in its expression.

As soon as the child's body left the gate, a thick aura of阴气 (yin energy, which can be translated as "negative energy" or "supernatural darkness") rose within the kindergarten.

All the little ghosts around showed expressions of fear and ran back to the side of the ghost doll.

"This aura, is it that principal who's coming out?" Lu Fei was startled, "It's not even twelve o'clock yet, why is it earlier today?"

  "Tongtong! Tongtong!"

Outside the door, Guo Yu tightly hugged her son, crying in a trembling voice.

"Sister, stop crying, take the child to the hospital quickly!" Jing Jian gestured forcefully at her.

  "But what about you..."

Guo Yu looked at the two with tears in her eyes.

"There's no point in you staying here, don't delay the child's treatment, go now!" Jing Jian urged earnestly.

Guo Yu felt like crying and laughing at the same time, and bowed deeply to them.

"Take care of yourselves! I'll be waiting for you to come back!"

After saying that, she hurried away, hugging her son.

Watching the mother and son disappear into the night, the weight in Lu Fei and the other's hearts finally lifted.

With the child rescued, they no longer had any qualms.

A thick, eerie aura quickly enveloped the entire kindergarten, making the buildings outside seem distant and hazy.

The sound of a ruler scraping across the floor could be faintly heard in the pitch-black classroom.

  "You're finished!"

The ghost dolls gave them a deep look before disappearing along with all the other little ghosts.

"Hide and seek, is it? Today, we'll play with you properly!"

The two of them stretched their bodies and then walked into the eerily ominous classroom.

The little ghosts were nowhere to be seen.

Even Little Black hid in the backpack, not daring to come out.

The sound of leather shoes stepping on the ground was sometimes close, sometimes far.

"Isn't the grievance of this principal a bit too much!"

Even though Jing Jian knew that President Hong was a good person when he was alive, hearing this horrifying voice still made him feel goosebumps all over his scalp.

"After capturing those ghost dolls, we still need to find a way to help the principal pass on. After all, being such a good person, turning out like this after death is not what he would have wanted."

"Of course, with such heavy Yin energy, if one day it breaks through the kindergarten, the people around will be in danger."

  Lu Fei nodded.

The two moved stealthily through the kindergarten, not avoiding the principal but instead heading in his direction.

If the ghost dolls want to use the principal to deal with them, then, only when they get close to the principal will the ghost dolls appear.

Rather than floundering around the kindergarten like headless flies, it's better to take the initiative and create an opportunity.

Although the principal is terrifying, he also has quite a noticeable weakness.

As long as they don't make any sound, they are safe.

The two of them followed behind the principal with great caution.

A thick, ominous aura surrounded the principal, like an angry flame, burning fiercely.

He kept tapping the walls with his ruler, as if searching for something, and looked quite irritable.

Every swing he made produced a loud noise, causing the entire kindergarten to tremble in fear.

Lu Fei and Jing Jian followed from a distance, their hands holding the magical instruments sweating slightly.

  "Come out!"

The principal rushed into the canteen, smashing the tables and chairs inside with a loud clatter.

  "Come out! I've found you!"

"Those who don't listen are bad children, and no one likes them. The teacher is doing this for your own good!"

  "Come out now!"

Angry roars echoed through the dark cafeteria.

Lu Fei and his companion stood outside the cafeteria door, avoiding the sharp Yin energy.

After waiting patiently for a long time, the pair of ghostly dolls finally appeared.

They emerged not far behind the two, holding hands, their thin, chopstick-like legs standing on the floor, their emaciated and deformed little hands clutching a few marbles.

But they did not make a move right away; their button-made eyes gazed at the two figures with some confusion.

  "They are here!"

Sensing something was amiss behind them, the two immediately turned around.

  Four pairs of eyes met.

Each held in their hands items that could create a disturbance.
