Cherreads

Chapter 30 - Cumulonimbus.

On the streets where silence and prying eyes impede upon.

Elishia runs through the narrow mazes and traverses through the passageway with red pressuring eyes atop the shattered windows.

She felt an eerie presence wash through her body, her skin tingling due to unwelcoming gazes.

Yet, she strode forward and continued to seek for the impulsive boy - Cetas.

She need not fear anything at all as Jones blessed her with a bodily boost so that she could at least protect herself.

In the distance, Elishia notices a looming red dome encompassing the far edge of the small town of Seyil. It is one of utmost curiosity, making Elishia ponder:

"How come I've never noticed such a thing!"

A large dome, one that stood out greatly! How could they have not seen this when they descended from the mountains beyond!

Hence, she considered this as a reason for Cetas to run forth. Perhaps he believed that something lies within the red dome.

Somehow.. she could feel a lingering feeling of Dread from inside.

Elishia continued to pace through.

She navigated through the confusing corners of Seyil's streets. Even though it looked barren and abandoned, such a small town containing quite a bumfuzzling maze is a unique experience to be observed.

Even more so, enduring the harrowing feeling of being pried upon made her body shudder and weakened her knees, making her legs struggle to continue running.

Until..

She chanced upon an eerie passageway - walls filled with desolated gray bricks, the pavement down below overgrown with greenery and grass, and the path ending in a blockaded wall.

But most importantly, a dark-blue haired boy stood uptight, holding a gun with a barrel-sized cannon in his hand.

Upon Elishia's arrival, the boy moved his pointing finger and pulled the trigger of the gun.

Compressed with raindrops, raging winds, and dark clouds, a single bead of water rests inside.

Then, it shot up towards the red dome with speeds that out-matching that of gale itself.

It impacted the red dome and exploded into gallons of liquid, ultimately piercing the topmost layer of the dome.

Elishia's mouth turned agape from the sudden surprise! Never has she seen Skadi utilize Windslinger like this!

Almost instantly, the gun flew towards the red dome and looked as if it were being pulled by something. Within a second, Elishia felt the air vibrate around her, screaming as if it were warning her entire being.

Suddenly!

A bolt of lightning came from the insides of the red dome, piercing through its blood walls and aiming for the skies above!

Elishia instinctively covered her ears and in doing so, she prepared for the loud burst that was to come.

And it came.. a loud peal of thunder howled!

Yet from within that very lightning, a figure of green light emerged.

The lightning itself dissipated and revealed an individual with golden hair and green winds travelling around her body.

Elishia gazed above and her eyes were filled with hope..

"Skadi!"

She was finally here!

Her savior! Everybody's savior! Their inspiration and source of hope! She knew that she had not fallen, of course... it's Skadi after all!

As she flew above the red dome, aiming her Windslinger above the skies, an amalgamation of flesh, blood, and tissues surfaced.

The sight of it filled Elishia's throat with blood, sweeping her entire body with Dread.

She fell to the ground and vomited crimson-red blood. She felt her eyes roll back, and her head spin.

"That was what Skadi was fighting against?!"

Her throat swelled up but Elishia managed to gather all of her vitality and looked up at Skadi's inspiring figure.

With determined eyes, she raised her hand and curled it into a fist.

"Please... win!"

In the bustling area of the fish market.

A vulgar, fishy smell permeated the area. Sweat trickled down everyone's faces. The seas echoed in the distance.

And.. a smell of blood entered itself in the air.

However, contrary to the smell being in the air, blood came from below - seeping through the crevices in the cobbled path, turning the little blades of grass red, and soaking the people's boots with blood.

As night was approaching, many people had arrived at the fish market - it was the primary source of income and commerce after all.

Even with the dim lights and darkening horizons, a particular individual dressed in blue garments gazed far in the edge of the town of Seyil.

The red dome stuck out like a sore thumb, making him ponder the peculiarity of its stance.

Seeking to gain further approval, he grabs another man by the shoulder.

"Hey do you see.. that?"

The man, clearly annoyed by the sudden action, replied in a frustrated tone:

"Ahh?! What are you rambling on about?!"

Then, he gazed in the distance, noticing the red dome too!

"Huh? That thing has always been there right?"

"I know.."

The man wearing blue garments reached out to his left and called over to a familiar individual, "Louie! Look at that!"

He pointed at the red dome. Even though unintentional, his loud voice gathered the attention of many

So, individuals gazed at the red dome, pondering about its existence and its long servitude.

A lingering question raised in their minds, "How have I never noticed?"

Suddenly, rain dropped on the red dome and pierced its center-top. A second later, lightning came forth and with it followed the loud thunder.

The humans in the vicinity covered their ears. Some turned around, and some fell to their knees.

Anyhow, the sudden lightning gathered even more attention in the area. Now, every individual standing in the fish market gazed upon the red dome in the distance.

Them and their family, their friends, and their lovers... all of their eyes locked upon a distinct figure clad in green.

"Who?"

"What is that green thing?"

Suddenly! Screams erupted from within the fish market and people fell down to the ground and vomited out blood!

Upon falling they noticed the increasing volume of blood seeping out from the ground, leaving panic to ensue within the crowd of people.

More and more screams got louder, and the situation became dire! The blue-garmented man, who was throwing up volumes of blood, managed to look up.

An action that he regretted..

Upon doing so, his eyes were haunted with the obscene sight of an amalgamation of flesh, blood, and tissues.

Hundreds of hands raced upon its body, a singular mouth opened to feast, eyes gazed upwards, flesh convulsed, blood traveled around, the air turned red, brain matter fluttered, hearts pulsated terribly, and much more squalid occurrences!

"What the hell is that!?"

"NO! NO! NO! NO!"

"Please! PLEASE!"

"R-run away!"

The people fell in a state of panic, especially more so since the blood below them moved towards the abomination.

Yet, as blood formed below and started to flood the streets, cumulonimbus clouds gathered above.

If one were to look at it, it would seem that the entire world had darkened, awaiting a storm that would rage upon the entire town.

Some believed that this small town of Seyil finally would've been wiped off the map. While some feared for their lives, running away from death as it loomed from the horizon.

Either way, they were all powerless at the sight of such abnormality!

Therefore, some just kneeled and prayed, blood coming out of their mouths and eyes.

Many prayed to Helios - the God of Power, while there are also others that prayed to the God of Balance, God of Fate, and many more! Each that differs had a different praying notion.

For example, believers of the God of Power had their fists touching only at the tip of the 2nd joint of their fingers, except their thumbs. Their arms pointed to the top, signifying the placement of power and the sun.

Meanwhile, the believers of the God of Balance put the knuckles of their fists pointing to each other to signify balance and equality. Their arms spread at a perfect 90 degree angle, and their head tilted at a 45 degree angle.

Believers of the God of Fate put their non dominant hand atop their dominant hand, both palms facing downwards. This signifies that even with the gift of life given to them, they would always be graced by the threads of Fate. Even if they were dominant, a force would be atop them, leading them to a destiny that they cannot control.

Anyhow, these believers prayed to their own respective Gods, asking for safety and guidance regarding this particular catastrophe.

"O! Helios! Guide us!"

"Verdisis, lead the way! Give me a fate befitting of my kindness!"

"Oh, Balance, save us!"

In the far distance, dark clouds gathered towards the green-clad individual with golden hair. The entirety of Seyil looked to be covered by a wide typhoon, formed with tempestuous vibrations in the air and condensating rain gathering inside the cumulonimbus clouds.

As the rain poured down, it washed the blood down below, clashing to clean the people's feet of the putrid nature in its crimson.
