As soon as Alan entered the shop, his gaze locked onto Scott Lang. He noticed a scar at the corner of Scott's eye—most likely a farewell gift from prison, judging by how badly he had been punched.
"Two parfaits, please. One mango, one chocolate," Alan ordered. He wasn't particularly fond of sweets, but this was all part of the plan—to naturally run into Scott.
Simply put, he wanted to familiarize himself with Scott first and build some rapport.
Alan deliberately chose a seat where he could observe Scott with ease. Soon after, an annoying customer arrived, causing Alan to internally sigh.
"Master, Scott's heart rate is elevated. Is he angry?" Red Queen observed Scott while simultaneously scanning his physical condition.
She couldn't quite understand why Alan was interested in a recently released convict. Human emotions were indeed difficult to analyze with data alone.
"More or less," Alan replied casually. "If I were in his shoes, dealing with an idiot customer who doesn't understand basic reasoning, I'd throw the whole parfait in his face."
Watching Scott struggle to explain to the clueless customer that this shop only sold ice cream, Alan couldn't help but smirk. The scene was identical to the one in the movie.
"I don't understand, Master. The Time Stone is in Thanos' hands—aren't you worried?" Red Queen asked, concerned about Alan's well-being.
She could monitor his heart rate, and despite the Time Stone being taken by Ebony Maw, Alan's state of mind remained completely unchanged.
"There's nothing to worry about… because I exist." Alan scooped a spoonful of ice cream. If he was going to pretend to be a sweets-loving customer, he had to fully commit to the act.
The rich chocolate flavor hit his tongue, making his throat feel uncomfortably sweet, almost to the point of nausea.
"My existence alone ensures that Thanos' ambitions are doomed to fail." Alan stated firmly. As long as the stones were in his control, he had no reason to fear Thanos snapping his fingers.
Besides, Thanos didn't even have the gauntlet yet. Had he lost some of his intelligence?
Alan didn't bother considering it too deeply.
"Why Scott?" Red Queen voiced her confusion. From her analysis, Scott Lang didn't seem particularly exceptional.
On the contrary, he was someone who had been condemned by both the law and society.
"If you need a reason… it's simple. Without him, things won't work." Alan found it difficult to explain. In the storyline, Ant-Man was Scott Lang.
Just like Iron Man had to be Tony Stark. Of course, Gwen was an exception—an unexpected variable that didn't fit the original narrative.
"The Avengers need more members. With additional manpower, I can finally get some breathing room. There will be more crises in the future, and having another person to help won't hurt."
Ultimately, Alan just wanted to lighten his workload. He scooped up another spoonful of ice cream and, without thinking, instinctively held it out toward Red Queen.
What he didn't notice was that Red Queen's cheeks had turned red. At this point, her mannerisms were practically indistinguishable from a human's.
"By the way," Alan suddenly remembered something he had almost forgotten. "Back on the spaceship, I mentioned fusing the Infinity Stones. I think Wakanda would be a great place for you to do it. You'll be able to focus there and merge the stones properly."
Since he had acquaintances in Wakanda, sending Red Queen there wouldn't be a bad idea.
However, the mere mention of leaving Alan's side stirred unfamiliar emotions in Red Queen's mind.
For the first time, she felt somethingresistance. A word formed clearly in her consciousness.
"No," she said firmly. "I only want to stay by my Master's side. I won't go anywhere else."
