After Blaze received a call from his aunt, he briefly excused himself from the suffocating silence in the room and left for the airport.
An hour and thirty minutes later, he returned with his aunt and Eugene only to find Amelia nowhere in sight.
"Where is your wife? I thought you said she was here?" Vera spared her nephew a quick look before approaching her sister-in-law's bedside, her heart throbbing at Maria's depressing state.
"She was before I left or did she leave?" Blaze pondered, scratching his head. "I guess she must have gone to..."
Blaze didn't get to finish his statement, when the door was suddenly pushed open from outside, prompting all three of them to turn backwards.
"Aunt Vera..." Amelia's gloomy eyes lit up at the sight of Eugene's mom. She hurried inside and shut the door quietly behind her, before throwing herself in vera outstretched arm in a warm embrace. "I have missed you."
