The chief warden sighed, knowing this wasn't going to be easy to digest.
"Senator, before I explain what happened to your daughter, I need you to understand that we deal with a lot of irrational pregnant inmates in here. Most of these women never bargained to be pregnant in the first place. They see their pregnancy as an impediment rather than a gift."
The chief warden paused, catching her breath.
"Although we try to counsel our pregnant inmates regularly, there have been a lot of incidences, where some of them try to terminate their pregnancy by consuming abortion pills. But in the case of Mrs Morgan, I'm still a little confused because I always thought she wanted it."
"What are you trying to say, warden?" The crease on the senator's forehead deepened.
"According to the doctor who attended to your daughter, she ingested some harmful drugs which are detrimental to her pregnancy.
