Chapter 162: Kaguya-hime
Before the shrine housing the massive Tenseigan, a pale-skinned child with azure hair stood. He appeared no older than ten.
Clad in loose white robes, the exposed skin of his neck bore the markings of magatama.
Though he had been born without eyes, he sensed the approach of powerful chakra signatures, converging rapidly.
Thankfully, the most terrifying one among them had not come.
So, the filthy creatures of the ninja world had finally arrived.
Since his father never returned, Ōtsutsuki Toneri knew he had perished on the planet below.
He had foreseen this day—the day the inhabitants of Earth would dare to invade the Moon.
That was why he had severed the passage between the two worlds.
But he had never imagined—
That that monster would ascend to the Moon by force!
—
Toneri had already accepted his fate.
Even if he had trained diligently, even if his pure Ōtsutsuki blood granted him more power than his father…
He knew.
There was no chance of victory.
Absolutely none.
Crack—
He gritted his teeth.
Even if he was doomed to lose—
If that man was so arrogant as to not come himself—
Then he would at least kill his underlings!
He would make him regret underestimating Ōtsutsuki Toneri!
A golden glow surged through his small body as he gathered the massive power of the Tenseigan.
Hands clasped together, he shouted—
"Summoning Jutsu!!"
—
The advancing shinobi felt the surge of chakra before it erupted.
The Moon's surface trembled as a colossal stone statue descended!
Its face bore the likeness of an old man, two small horns sprouting from its forehead.
A string of magatama adorned its chest, its upper body disproportionately large, and its two massive arms radiated overwhelming power.
Boom!
A titanic fist crashed forward, sending shockwaves tearing through the atmosphere!
The Statue of Hamura, capable of restraining the Nine-Tails with ease!
—
A deafening explosion followed.
The best way to test an opponent? A ranged attack.
The shinobi were among the strongest in the world; no discussion was needed to coordinate tactics.
Killer Bee entered partial Tailed Beast Mode, launching a Tailed Beast Bomb.
Boom!
Yet the colossal statue reacted unnaturally fast, tilting its body ever so slightly to evade the attack.
Its fist kept moving—straight toward Killer Bee!
"I got this!"
Ōnoki, seeing that Nagato and Shisui had yet to make a move, sighed and stepped in.
Right now, the only person he could trust was Killer Bee.
Hands outstretched, a blinding white beam shot forth—
Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!
The statue disintegrated like melting snow.
"Ha! That's all—"
Before the smirk fully formed, the statue instantly regenerated.
And its fist sent Ōnoki and Killer Bee flying!
—
Meanwhile.
Kagami moved separately.
If he had ascended to the Moon, how could he not go meet her?
Hazy Blade: The Cry of the Cicada.
A wisp of smoke drifted from Kagami's body, slipping into the ground unnoticed.
Hashirama, nearby, thought he heard the faint chirping of cicadas. He turned toward Kagami—
But saw nothing.
Kagami's consciousness descended through layers of darkness.
Time became irrelevant as he drifted downward…
Until he reached a dense, black mass—
A gravitational force of infinite suppression.
This was the Six Paths' Chibaku Tensei.
He had to admit—Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki was a genius.
In raw strength, Kaguya far surpassed Hagoromo and Hamura.
She was leagues above even Naruto and Sasuke.
Yet she had been sealed. Twice.
Kagami had long suspected that sealing techniques held an unnaturally high priority in this world.
Otherwise, how could so many people restrain beings stronger than them?
Still—this level of Sealing Jutsu was something to respect.
Suspended in front of the black sphere, Kagami stretched out a spiritual hand and pressed against it.
He could cut through it.
If his true body descended, this seal would shatter.
But there was no need.
Without Ten-Tails' power, the sealed Kaguya was just empty data—a shadow of her former self.
Kagami had zero interest in cutting the Moon open to free Black Zetsu's mother.
—
Bloodline transcendence—The God Tree's ultimate form.
Ōtsutsuki naturally wielded Bloodline Selection, a fusion of three elements.
And Bloodline Net, a fusion of all chakra attributes.
But Kagami?
He had never pursued this path.
Just as he rejected the idea that the Rinnegan was an "evolution" of the Sharingan, he never believed that Bloodline Net was superior to Bloodline Selection.
His Slashing Style was a manifestation of Yin Release.
His Scorching Style was a fusion of Yang Release, capable of refining Natural Energy into its purest form.
In his eyes—
Yin and Yang Release alone could surpass Bloodline Net.
Reality was defined by duality—Light and Dark, Yin and Yang, the Real and the Illusory.
No other elements mattered.
In the end, strength was all that counted.
And when he crushed a Bloodline Net user, it would prove he was right.
—
Lost in thought, Kagami opened a microscopic rift in the black sphere.
His spiritual form drifted inside.
The hole sealed instantly.
—
Within the darkness—
A single source of light.
Kagami found her.
Or rather—
That "goddess."
—
Silken white hair cascaded like a celestial river.
Her pale, porcelain-like face exuded an unapproachable chill.
Like the most delicate ice sculpture, eternally untouched.
Twin horns marked her bloodline.
And if one looked closely—
A faint vertical scar lined the center of her forehead.
Though her eyes were shut, her presence exuded an ethereal majesty.
Most would feel an instinctual fear in her presence.
But not Kagami.
He studied her quietly.
Yes—this was only a fragment of Kaguya.
Her power had been drained for a thousand years.
"Oi. Wake up. Ōtsutsuki Kaguya."
A voice rang out—
Shattering a millennium of silence.
Kaguya's eyelashes trembled.
Slowly…
She opened her eyes.
Boom!
A tidal wave of oppressive power surged forth.
Kagami's spiritual form wavered.
"You…"
"You are…"
As if struggling to recall language itself—
"Hagoromo's chakra…"
Pure beings like her recognized people by their essence, not their faces.
Suddenly—
A pale hand lashed forward.
Without hesitation, Kagami's invisible blade struck—
Slicing her hand clean off.
Kaguya retracted it—
Her severed limb regenerating instantly.
She stared at Kagami in confusion.
"What… is this power?"
"Who are you?"
Kagami's spiritual form floated calmly.
A faint smirk played on his lips.
"Allow me to introduce myself."
"I am Uchiha Kagami."
"The rightful master of the ninja world."
—
Kaguya frowned.
"You are… Hagoromo's child…? You have inherited… the ninja world?"
Her voice shifted, suddenly laced with wrath.
"No. The ninja world is… MY garden!"
She spread her arms wide—
Like a beast—
Or rather—
A white rabbit.
Kagami sighed, shaking his head.
"Millennia-old grandmas really don't understand things."
"I gave you a chance."
"But like that other Ōtsutsuki fool… you just don't listen."
