Chapter 180 - Chapter 180: The Ōtsutsuki Clan Makes Its Move

Chapter 180: The Ōtsutsuki Clan Makes Its Move

Beyond the Sky…

Ōtsutsuki Urashiki, lying on a meteor, slowly opened his eyes.

"How's the intel gathering, Urashiki?"

Beside him was Momoshiki, possessing the typical pale Ōtsutsuki complexion, with a mane of ashen-white hair and two forward-curving horn-like protrusions resembling rabbit ears.

He wore a noble-style kimono robe, and with one glance at his haughty demeanor, one could easily associate him with the word "arrogance."

Seated at Momoshiki's side was Kinshiki—a tall, burly figure of seemingly dull presence.

"Heh, hey, Momo, Kin—you're here!"

Urashiki's tone was casual, waving lightly.

"Stop the nonsense," Momoshiki said, frowning as he looked toward that crimson fireball in the sky. "Tell me what's going on with Isshiki and Kaguya."

The three of them plus Isshiki's group all belonged to an Ōtsutsuki God-Tree planting unit, normally meeting every few centuries to turn over Chakra Fruits to their clan's high echelon. They had lost contact for over a thousand years. Command from the higher-ups had them searching for Isshiki and Kaguya.

Urashiki's dōjutsu was remarkable—particularly strong for reconnaissance. Within their ranks, he also held the highest standing. He traveled alone, not because he was assigned a God-Tree mission, but more as a wanderer exploring the cosmos.

Momoshiki and Isshiki were of the militant branch of the Ōtsutsuki, while Kaguya and Kinshiki were more like…tools, or so they viewed them.

Urashiki stayed silent for a bit, then said, "Listen, Momo, I think we should report to that lord. This world is far too strange—definitely not something we can handle."

"Are you serious?" Momoshiki's eyes narrowed.

Urashiki's Byakugan shifted into the red Rinnegan with six tomoe, projecting the intel he gathered in the form of illusions.

Primarily, it showed the events since the Ninja World Tournament:

The White Dragon lifting the Moon, Kagami reinforcing Kaguya's seal, and the moment he launched that crimson sun outward.

It was precisely that signal that allowed them to locate this "lost" world of Isshiki so quickly.

"Isshiki-san must've already been killed by Uchiha Kagami," Urashiki said coldly. "His black eye showed up in the socket of that freakish, four-armed monster…," his face clouded with anger. Though the Ōtsutsuki were immortal, to see a comrade killed by some 'indigenous creature' was both enraging and shameful.

He paused. "Because of all this, I haven't dared rush in. In pure combat terms, Isshiki was among our strongest. Yet he fell…"

Moreover, the real issue:

Uchiha Kagami evidently knew of them and deliberately sent out a beacon.

Like using the ninja world as bait to lure and kill Ōtsutsuki.

This world had spawned a terrifying monstrosity!

After digesting the intel, Momoshiki's gaze darkened as it fell upon the Moon.

"Kaguya… what a disgrace to the clan."

"First, let's break her seal," he said. "We can learn more afterward.

Going straight to that lord for help would make us look incompetent," Momoshiki added, glancing at Kinshiki. The two had long been in sync.

Kinshiki's Byakugan pulsed with strange waves, carrying himself and Momoshiki instantly toward the Moon in a flicker of space-time technique.

Urashiki, on the other hand, stepped backward into a black dimensional portal.

Huang Quan Hirasaka.

---

A black spherical barrier obstructed their vision.

"This presence… formed from Rinnegan-based sealing arts," Momoshiki said, pressing a hand against the dark membrane. "But that Uchiha Kagami didn't have a Rinnegan, right?"

Urashiki shook his head. "Not sure. According to the ninja world's rumors, this seal was made by someone called the 'Sage of Six Paths.'"

"Heh, that Sage is said to be Kaguya's child," Urashiki continued.

"Her child?"

Momoshiki's face showed even more disgust. "What a vile concept—bearing offspring with lesser creatures…"

"Let's just see for ourselves." With a hand placed on the black membrane, Urashiki caused a pattern of black squares to appear, slicing open a gap in the seal.

Alone, he would've feared messing up, but with Momoshiki by his side, even if Kagami were lying in wait, they should be able to escape.

Within the dim sealed space:

Kaguya's body, pierced by six black spears, each tip flickering with crimson flames.

Bound at the center, she bent forward, snow-white hair spilling down like a curtain, seemingly in slumber.

"How repulsive," Momoshiki snarled, raising a hand to emit a powerful wave of chakra.

Boom!!

A torrent of chakra erupted—but upon contact with the black spears, it seemed to vanish like a stone dropped into a lake.

Only the dancing flames at the spear tips flared hotter.

As though Momoshiki's chakra attack had been consumed as fuel for the seal's fire.

Momoshiki tried a few more times with the same result.

"Isn't Kagami supposed to be Kaguya's descendant? Why is his power incomprehensible to us?" Urashiki wondered, slinging his fishing rod over his shoulder.

Momoshiki scowled at Kaguya. "We'll forcibly break this seal, whether or not it damages her."

Urashiki quickly spoke up: "Better not. After all, she is our clanswoman.

We also have that other with the Rinnegan to question. Maybe we'll find out more details from him first."

Momoshiki frowned. "Why bother with all these trifles? Let's just find that Uchiha Kagami."

"They're just lower life. How strong can they be?"

At that, Kinshiki finally spoke, stepping forward in deference.

"Lord Momoshiki, with all due respect, Lord Urashiki has a point—something about this Kagami unsettles me. Isshiki vanished, Kaguya was beaten…"

"Huh, such cowardice!" Momoshiki spat. "Fine. We'll do as you say. Let's locate that Rinnegan user first."

Amegakure.

Orochimaru had arrived on behalf of the Fire Shadow Village, Kakuzu for the Rain Village, and Jiraiya for the Cloud Kage's office, for a three-sided conference.

"Impossible! Simply impossible!" Kakuzu roared. "We from Rain provided 2,827 ninjas of jōnin level or higher to build the Wind-Rain Great Canal. Our labor input is seventy-two point four percent, at least!"

"Proposing a fifty-fifty split is nonsense, Orochimaru! Are we haggling in some cheap black market? Where's your sense of professionalism?"

Orochimaru let Kakuzu finish, then coolly replied, "Rain's official count of jōnin is only a few hundred at best. I'm tired of wrangling over this. Don't be so greedy, Kakuzu."

"Greedy?!" Kakuzu slammed the table angrily. "What rot are you spewing!"

"Think about it! Our water's the lifeblood fueling the Wind Country, and not only do you show no gratitude, you want to claim the canal's yields! Enough talk— let's fight, Orochimaru!"

As Kakuzu grew increasingly agitated, Jiraiya held him back. "Kakuzu-san, calm down! Your age— watch your health!"

Sipping tea, Orochimaru was relatively unconcerned. Then—

His snake-like golden eyes abruptly narrowed, turning upward to the sky.

A dark hole had opened overhead.

From within, three figures emerged, strolling out step by step. A pressure like a towering mountain slammed down on them.
