Kai sat alone in his room, one leg crossed over the other, a bowl of untouched cereal on the table beside him. The TV screen in front of him glowed brightly, casting flickers of blue and red over his calm face. The news broadcast was everywhere—channel after channel, reporter after reporter. Everyone was talking about the same thing: the murder of one of the managers at LVA Entertainment.
The city was in panic mode.
News anchors wore stiff expressions, their voices fast and tense. Reporters shouted over each other outside the crime scene. Police cars flashed in the background. Viewers at home could feel the weight of fear pressing against their screens.
"Authorities still do not have a suspect," one anchor announced. "But what we do know is this: the killer left a chilling message. And now, the industry is trembling."
At that moment Kai leaned back on the couch, remote in hand, volume turned up just enough.
