As the footage ended, Kael glanced at the woman beside him.
"You okay?" Kael asked, concern evident in his voice and eyes. He held out his hand to touch hers, and Milan stiffened for a moment before she relaxed.
"I'm… alright," Milan smiled. "Anyway… that's how she died, and why my ex-husband wanted her suit."
"Hmm." Kael didn't say a word at first—he had already figured it out. Caressing her hand, he opened his mouth. "So, he wanted her suit because of the Artefact that stayed on it?"
"Yes." Milan nodded. "I don't know how he got that information, but apparently, he already knew—before we even met. He… manipulated his way into my heart, into my house… He must have thought I'd give up my mother's suit just because I loved him. He couldn't have been more wrong. When I found out his true intention, I tried to confront him. That's when he showed his real self. An asshole who deserves to rot in hell."
