Chapter 282: The Governor of the North Blue
Doberman's mind was spinning wildly, desperately searching for a way to escape. But surrounded by so many people, even if he had wings, he wouldn't be able to fly away.
The man in front of him was none other than the World's Greatest Swordsman, the legendary pirate of the New World! Would he really just watch Doberman escape?
The mocking laughter of the crew behind Charlotte made Doberman's face twist in anger.
"Captain! Looks like you scared that little Marine stiff!" one of the crew members joked.
Charlotte just smiled, shaking his head as he focused on Doberman.
"You're pretty bold, Marine. You're the first to set foot on my ship. Gotta admit, that takes some courage."
Doberman gritted his teeth, his pride wounded by the pirate's words.
"Pirate! You think you can insult the Navy? Kill me if you want, but I will never bow!"
He turned to see more of his men climbing aboard, panic flickering in his eyes.
"Retreat! This is the Rockefeller Pirates! Go and report to the Navy Headquarters!"
Some of the Marines hesitated, unsure whether to advance or retreat. The confusion only worsened when they saw Doberman lying injured on the deck, blood trickling from his mouth.
Charlotte's men looked at each other with malicious grins, their eyes glinting with the anticipation of violence.
"Captain, these guys don't know who they're messing with. Let's teach them a lesson."
Charlotte nodded with a slight wave of his hand.
"Go ahead. Deal with them."
In an instant, three hundred seasoned pirates rushed forward, weapons drawn, clashing with the Marines.
Doberman tried to fight back, but his movements were sluggish from the earlier injury. Before he could make another move, Lauer, one of Charlotte's commanders, swung his massive sword, sending Doberman flying across the deck.
Doberman hit the ground hard, coughing up blood, his vision blurring.
"How... how could they be so strong?"
Doberman couldn't believe it. He had trained relentlessly, but this pirate was on a completely different level.
"Captain!"
The remaining Marines were horrified as they watched Doberman get tossed around like a rag doll.
One by one, they fell to the relentless onslaught of Charlotte's crew, their blood staining the deck. In a matter of minutes, it was over—only Doberman remained alive, held at swordpoint by Lauer.
Charlotte walked over, looking down at the defeated Marine.
"Justice will prevail... The Fleet Admiral will avenge us!" Doberman spat, his voice trembling with defiance.
Charlotte shrugged.
"Let them come."
Hearing this, Doberman's fury reignited.
"Pirate! You will never die a peaceful death!"
Charlotte laughed softly, shaking his head.
"Quite the bold one, aren't you? I like that. But you're too weak to back it up."
He raised his sword.
"Kill him."
Lauer hesitated, but before he could act, Charlotte's sword flashed through the air.
Doberman's head separated from his body, rolling across the deck before dropping into the sea.
Charlotte didn't bother to look back.
"Clean up the mess. Leave a few survivors to spread the word. Let the entire North Blue know that Rockefeller Charlotte has arrived."
As his men rushed to follow orders, Charlotte walked back to his quarters, his mind already turning to the next steps.

North Blue Governor's Mansion
"What did you say?! You encountered the Rockefeller Pirates?!"
Governor Darren stared incredulously at the ragged Marines standing before him.
"Y-Yes, sir! They left us alive just to deliver the message!" one of the survivors stammered, trembling under Darren's glare.
"Are you sure it was really Rockefeller Charlotte?" Darren demanded, holding up a bounty poster.
The Marines nodded furiously, their eyes filled with terror.
"Yes! Without a doubt! He killed Captain Doberman with a single strike and threw his head into the sea!"
Darren dropped back into his chair, his face pale and sweaty.
"This... this can't be happening. How did Charlotte get to the North Blue? Why wasn't there any warning from the Navy Headquarters?"
Sitting nearby, Vice Admiral Sakazuki—better known as Akainu in the future—slammed his fist on the desk, making the papers jump.
"Governor Darren, now is not the time to panic! We must inform Navy Headquarters immediately and request a fleet of admirals to deal with this threat!"
Darren glanced nervously at Akainu, knowing his reputation for being unyielding and ruthless.
"You think they'll send an admiral just because I asked? We're in the North Blue—sending someone of that level will take time!"
Akainu glared back, his intense gaze making Darren swallow hard.
"If we don't do something now, Charlotte will run rampant. We can't let that happen."
Darren knew Akainu was right. He had seen Charlotte's bounty—a staggering 3 billion berries.
"Fine... I'll send an urgent message to Fleet Admiral Kong and Admiral Sengoku. We'll see how they handle this."
Akainu nodded, his expression like chiseled stone.
"Leave it to me. If Charlotte dares to step onto the mainland, I'll be the one to cut him down."
Darren could only hope that Akainu's fury would be enough to contain the monster that was Rockefeller Charlotte.
